Miles Tones's Achievements

  1. I believe Doogie stated the Jays never called the Twins back. They may have wanted him out of the AL. We the fans may value Stroman far higher than all MLB front offices that don't sound like "Mess".
  2. I have no problem passing on Kimbrel. We have a deep farm system, with a lot of guys Rule 5 eligible this year and not enough room to keep them. It's time to start packaging some of our minor league talent for some controllable relief assets.
  3. Hate both picks. Dumped the comp pick and lost the 3rd rounder by signing Lynn. That means the earliest possible chance to draft a pitcher is the 4th round. Considering the Twins' pitching has been the laughingstock of the league for a decade, you'd think we would prioritize it. Meanwhile we add yet another corner outfielder to a team whose outfielders are all in their early to mid - twenties. Hugely disappointed. Meanwhile, the Royals drafted their 2021 rotation in one night.
  4. I don't know Betsy. I don't know Sano. No skin in the game, as they say. I do have a wife and three daughters, all of which have been assaulted and/or raped. None reported the incidents, due to fear of repercussion. It takes guts for someone to stand up and say "this happened to me". The pain and anguish is quite real for the victims and those close to them. It's not surprising these incidents are grossly underreported. The victims are vilified for something horrible that happened to them. What exactly does Betsy gain from this, other than promoting awareness? She said she's not looking for money or anything else. She probably doesn't want to arbitrarily damage her favorite team by accusing a key player of a crime. So what does she gain? The people that immediately defend Sano have yet to answer that question. It's sickening how sexual assaults and abuse are so willingly tolerated and defended.
  5. Tom, THANKS MUCH for these daily write-ups! I look forward to reading them every day.
  6. I think there's a lot of validity to your points. A few counter thoughts... At the times of those drafts, Trout wasn't quite as highly regarded (lower first-round guy), and Appel was (supposedly) the top prospect in the draft. I think mid-market teams like the Twins are somewhat stuck with finding and developing pitchers. They won't outbid the large-market teams like the Yankees, and I just don't recall many stud pitchers signing with low-to-mid revenue teams like the Twins. I think we need to almost over-emphasize the drafting of pitchers, and give ourselves more room for error.I can't think of better trade-bait the young, high-upside pitching. If you loaded up a farm system with stud pitching, you can trade from that position of strength to fill in other holes, if needed.I'd actually like to see the Twins grab 3 pitchers at 1/35/37.
  7. Based on his combination of offense and defense, is Garver generally accepted as the Twins' top catching prospect? How would the top 4-5 be ranked? Garver/Pinto/Turner/Swim?
  8. Interesting that no one has recently whined about all the relievers the Twins drafted this year. Apparently, Burdi, Reed, Cederoth, Clay, and Curtiss seem to be working out just fine...
  9. It's a strong list with many worthy candidates. However, I'm a bit stunned Gallant and Burdi are not in the top six. Reed WAS included, so it's apparently not due to small sample set. Gallant put up video game numbers, and Burdi would have if you excuse his debut. I realize its choosing among several excellent options, but I'd have pegged Reed first. He was almost unfair this year.
