  1. This can't be stressed enough. The Twins need someone who is going to destroy water coolers after a game like this.
  2. I know Milone was pitching well but I wish they would have removed him before Arod's 2nd homer. I only say that in hindsight since I wasn't paying close attention at that point. Perkins and Suzuki are cerebral guys. They need to be smarter than that last night. They threw him a thigh high fastball right down the middle. Perkins said he was surprised Arod swung at the first pitch. Weak excuse in my opinion.
  3. I actually was not as bothered with last night's loss as much as the 7-0 loss the night before. Last night was close. (Though I didn't see the whole thing straight through). Guys had some good at bats at the wrong times last night. Angels made some plays. Pelfrey got knocked around a little but didn't implode like Gibson and Boyer the night before. May pitched fine (needs to be moved back into rotation now.) Pujols gets a double off May off the end of his bat that looked better than it was, and May came back next inning and dominated. Rosario threw a guy out tagging. They picked a guy off second. There were signs of life.
  4. I would add the words "right now" to that phrase and back it 100%
  5. Agreed, restraint wouldn't be the worst thing, as adding Sano and Ervin Santana is pretty big itself. However, there is still a logjam of valuable young corner infield/outfield guys that we don't have room to play.
  6. Escobar is a much better option than Santana right now. Escobar looked clumsy last night, but so did every other infielder. At least Escobar has competitive at bats and worked that leadoff walk last night in the 6th when the game was still close.
  7. EVERYbody looked ****ty tonight--congratulations for narrowing it down to one guy!
  8. "Players like Lucroy don't come around that often." But players like Sano, Buxton, Meyer and Berrios come around all the time? lol
  9. I think you are really selling Arcia short. Arcia has shown as much raw home run power at a young age as anyone else in the league, not named Trout. Yet if he doesn't improve on that in the next year, his trade value approaches zero? I don't see it. I'm sure there are teams that will take him off the Twins hands for next to nothing.
  10. It appears the Twins are viewing Eduardo Escobar's 2014 season as a fluke, and Danny Santana's 2014 season as not a fluke. Or maybe Escobar gets bench because he misses a sign occasionally, or does some other little thing that the coaches don't appreciate, and Santana gets the start because he tries hard and needs the repetitions. Not sure what's going on.
  11. You said it. Arcia could be a catalyst if given a fair chance. Arcia can make a bad play in the outfield but you could use a defensive substitute for him in the late innings when necessary. We've also seen him make good plays. Also, he doesn't air mail balls to the infield any more often than Torii still does (at age 39).
  12. I still wonder if the Twins even consider catcher a weakness. The starting pitching is so vastly improved and I think the Twins are happy to give Suzuki much of the credit for that, because of his off field work and rapport he supposedly has with the staff. I would love it if they traded for one of those guys above.
  13. Probably zooming in on the data would give a better picture. But, pinch hitters can make an impact. I would have left out the NL too if I had looked this up myself. Different rules and not teams we are competing against. You'd like to think the Twins would be somewhere in the middle of something like this, not dead last and not even within shouting distance of next to last.
  14. Wow Great job looking this up. To borrow a trademarked phrase: Mind boggling. The Twins have so much to hold their heads high about, and then there's stuff like this.
  15. somebody logging into propeller head dot come and going directly to check Santana's FB:GB ratio might never guess the Twins are winning EDIT: not intended as a dig at Sabermetrics
  16. until the last pitch. Then, a hell of an AB by Sano. (as expected)
  17. Twins escape a jam in bottom 3rd Ervin Santana got Bigfoot to pop out to Plouffe with the bases loaded.
