  1. a portion of the defensive issues is caused by playing fielders out of position, and talent. Plouffe is a good third baseman, Mauer is a good first baseman. There are no options currently available better than they are, and they are both good hitters. Why change that? This team needs to improve by increasing quality of talent from the outside, not shuffling guys around more just 'cuz.
  2. Far too small of a sample size, but this team still needs to hit better, field better and pitch better to overcome the runs allowed to runs scored ratio. When you're last in the league in runs allowed, and second to last in the league in runs scored at the end of the season; you're going to be last in the league in winning percentage.
  3. i was on the Hicks needs to be in AAA for his development bandwagon (John Bonnes side), now I'm moving to the "best case scenario is platoon half or 4th outfielder so you might as well start now (Aaron Gleeman side). But there's still two horrible outfielders in Left and Right, even Byron "newly anointed baby Jesus" Buxton can't cover foul pole to foul pole. You need to have at least two competent fielders in the outfield.
  4. how does moving Mauer to the outfield help the outfield? He's never shown the ability to play the outfield, and history of leg issues may indicate the outfield may not be a good choice since every play you are involved includes running. Just because you are subtracting a poor player from the field does it mean you are improving. Also, It would hurt the infield as he is a better first baseman than any of the other options, and Plouffe is a good to very good third baseman. Escobar would be a step up with the glove at SS, but a step down with range and arm, I think sticking with Santana at short in 2015, could make for a very good SS of the future if things go well. Since the minor league options aren't ready, and are still just prospects, trading Arcia or Vargas for a good fielding and decent hitting Left Fielder might be the best stop gap. Hunter would be my preference to go, but he's worth nothing and has a no trade clause, as if 10 mil wasn't enough to deter a trade.
  5. katz has the best history, all the cool memoribilia, and the food is very good, but not my favorite, but a place you must visit while in NY.
  6. very nice, I would also suggest pizza at Washington Square and 5th ave in Greenwich Village while you are in NY
  7. thats exactly my point, how do you avoid peeing next to strangers unless you get to know them first
  8. like the old joke about testing who really is mans best friend. His dog or his Wife...
  9. licking strange women seems pretty achievable, avoiding peeing next to strange men seems rather difficult. Do you get into deep meaningful conversations with people every time you use the public restroom?
  10. on more than one occasion have I been witness to women squatting over the trough in the Metrodome.... By the time it was your turn, you had to pee so bad, you didn't stop when she snickered
  11. i think you are right, but if you are going to teach infielders outfielding at the bigs, why not teach minor league outfielders hitting at the bigs? I think the bigger point and how the meme fits is, players out of position 30% of a 11 game old season, along with the big free agent bull pen acquisition only getting mop up or desperation duty, is an indication that this roster is in dire need of an overhaul. time to make some roster changes to put the right players in a place to succeed, so the biggest offseason acquisition, manager Paul Molitor, can also succeed, or stick to your guns and watch the whole FO and coaching staff get blown up in October
  12. i was with you until the Trade Vargas part. Everything thereafter I disagree with vehemently. Prospects are just prospects, let them play it out.In regards to Suzuki... Bring up Pinto, let him earn his starting position and hold on to Suzuki as backup. Nolasco will never ever be tradeable, just let that one go. Hunter never should have been signed, but I can't imagine what he would be like on the bench full time. You can't really cut him, and he's untradeable, no idea there, painted into a corner. Santana needs to stay at SS. Let Hicks/Rosario/Buxton unseat the dynamic duo, it shouldn't be that hard.
  13. i dunno if this is the roster that TR and Moli agreed upon. The Eduardos have started in 3/11 of the games in the outfield, and have pinch hit/run a couple more times. Does infielders in the outfield remind you of someone? Is it possible that Moli doesn't have the roster he wants?
  14. absolutely, with the game on the line, he had his head up his rear end. The Twins could win it here, despite his idiocy
