  1. In a very small sample Garlick has 1000 OPS against lefties this year, and 189 wRC+ or 89% above average in terms of run contribution. he can’t do much, but he hits lefties pretty well.
  2. That is what Dazzle said. He robbed a homer, just didn’t catch it
  3. Sano batting average .067 is 7th in the order. That is impressive
  4. I think the money would be on less nimble after getting injured by a bowling ball
  5. I was tempted to Rick Roll, but thought I would ruin what little credibility I have left
  6. A tidbit of entertainment as the game will most certainly drag on: Might I suggest Shopping with the Enemy? it’s fun to see the “interesting” products found on other team’s fan shop. may I introduce the ugliest hat I have ever seen? Also for the Royals fan in your life that has almost everything else, a Royals Garden Gnome happy hunting!
  7. While I’d normally like to see if Duran can get some K’s looking before thrusting him into leverage, he’s about the only option right now to backfill Duffey.
  8. I think it’s not too early to reduce Duffey’s leverage and frequency. He clearly doesn’t have it right now, and hasn’t since late last year. I wouldn’t jump to a roster decision yet, unless he’s hurt and gets a diagnosis
  9. I will be there tomorrow for PT, I will pass your displeasure along to my Physical Therapist. I’m sure she will care deeply
  10. I suppose you could do this, but it seems like a lot of effort for a game thread
  11. Wow, streaming radio delay is a solid minute to 90 seconds behind
  12. And the manager a former cricket coach named Ned Jasso from London who is having a mid life crisis
  13. Agreed with the need for more plays, not sure the BB adds plays, just runners. I don’t think it gets that done, and it potentially lengthens the game. what if fouls in excess of the limit that doesn’t reach the seats, it’s considered “in play”? Goes to the backstop, into the nets, or down the foul line, it’s in-play. edit to add: if the foul in excess of limit reaches the seats or inside the dugout, strike 3.
  14. Agreed, my greatest concern was the rotation and so far the rotation has been the strength of the team. However, they are on pace for 65 wins (compared to your 70 win estimate) our estimate of How might be off, but the Outcome may not be. the 6 man rotation last year pitched a combined 558.2 innings last year. They are going to run out of horses as the marathon progresses. The bats and bullpen better start picking up the slack or 70-75 wins might be really optimistic
  15. That is an interesting twist, I like the idea of limiting fouls per at bat. Not sure the sac stat change would increase contact or reduce the number of fly balls, but I like the thought behind using that kind of approach to put more balls in play especially more infield balls in play. That type of change would reduce the shift and increase the number of plays per game (making it more exciting).
