  1. In todays game (5/24/25)....I know AA is about getting work in and giving everyone a chance and developing, but what is the deal with the Lookouts keeping DJ Johnson in the game?? 45 plus pitches for a reliever, who has struggled this yr and is not really much of a prospect, anyone have any insight or is it just to try to develop thru adversity???
  2. Robinson, Schafer, Nunez, Herrman, Hunter shouldnt be on team next yr, and Escobar, if on team, should be utility infielder only......So that leaves 7, about right.........not to say they wont have more, but that is how I would do it..........they will be a good topic coming up , who to leave on and off 40 man for Rule 5 purposes.
  3. If we go outfield, i want Tucker before Cameron, i read that we are hot for Cameron, i either hope not, or hope the Twins are right if they pick him........Otherwise i want Bregman , if available, or a pitcher that is not Aiken.........no chance Aiken is taken this early, right???
  4. I like to move up all the good young pitchers, but when anyone of us says, so and so should move up, just give the rest of us RUBES an idea of who you would remove........its not that easy, especially this yr when there are few players that are playing poorly in the minors..........example, is of course i want Gonsalves moved up, but Wilson who is 25 is pitching well, do we just cut him? Maybe...but with Gonsalves we have time on our hands cuz he is young, so i see the need to promote the older guy to see if he can cut it at the next level..........its not like Gonsalves is the next Hamels, at least he is not projected to be, but that is another debate ...............I am rambling here and not sure i got my point across, but it is a hard year to promote, especially in the pitching department..........................By the way, most teams covet their own prospects, so it is hard to trade prospects for prospects.
  5. I am going to take an uneducated guess, and say it will have something to do with Hamburger and or Wheeler.
  6. I believe you can make adjustment inbetween DH games, but as i believe i seen Seth say, he has like 2 or 3 days to report when moving down from MLB.
  7. Actual 6 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 4 W, 6 K, 93 pitches, 55 strikes........................fantastic outing!!!!!
  8. Well , i am hoping for a 9 inning no-hitter ...........but realistically, i am hoping he can get 5 innings and 3 runs or less and less than 6 hits and no more than 1 or 2 walks......................if he does that it will be considered successful to me, heck anything other than being shelled will be a success for coming up from Hi A...............................but even if he gets shelled , it wont change my current opinion of him, and it would let him know he needs work. I know i will be on my computer following gameday.
  9. I think you are correct in in the short term, and if either fails in their next start, i think things could change with in the week.
  10. I am one of those who wants to do what is best for the future, but also if the winning trend continues for another month, I want to try to win NOW.......................so with that said, I would personally bring up Milone, temporily keep starting May, and send Pelphrey to the bullpen(our bullpen pretty much sucks right now) and you know someone will come up lame in the next few weeks, then you let Pelphrey start again.......................or if May has another 2 or 3 game stretch of poor performance, you can then demote him and Pelphrey back to starting and bring up a DIFFERENT bullpen arm. There is my 2 cents
  11. Well I only seen him once in person, 2013 Cedar Rapids, and he played first.......to me he looks like John Olerud, so maybe our 1B man of the future after Joe Mauer contract is up..............Even tho he hasnt hit over the last couple yrs, or at least not consistently, we only seem to hear good things about his future. and he is having a great start to this yr.
  12. Will the Cedar Rapids games be 9 innings, or the conclusion of first one 9 and the second one 7??
  13. Nice article, like many others i am sure, I wonder why Ortiz is not in any prospect circles, he is only 25 also, same as Hicks.
  14. Somehow 11 & 12 got deleted as I was typing, but Gonsalves 11 and Harrison 12......Thanks for seeing that.
  15. Also think it is a very close call, Buxton and Harrison are my favorite 2 minor leaguers, but I have to go with the Low draft pic who is , I assume, exceeding all expectations........Seems the Kernals are finding someplace to play him every nite.
  16. Nice to see the player(s) appreciate the work behind the scenes, nice article Mat.
  17. 1. Buxton 2. Sano 3. Berrios 4. Polanco 5. Meyer 6. Gordon 7. Rosario 8. Kepler 9. Burdi 10 Hu 13 Stewart 14 Minier 15 Z Jones 16 Reed 17 Thorpe 18 Walker 19 Duffy 20 Jorge 21 Turner I didnt include JR Graham who is technically still a prospect for a week or 2.......I would probably slot him in the 18 to 20 range.
  18. Would be nice to get a hit with a runner in scoring position, 2 wasted innings, but at least we are hitting the ball, it will come
  19. There should not be any tension in the Aiken/Nix fiasco, the Astros were proven right in my mind.................Man, they took alot of flak , even after still offering $5M.....................Aiken is probably forever damaged goods compared to other TJ patients..............Stay away from Aiken, under no circumstances should he be taken in the 1st round, or at least the first 15 to 20 picks, IMO
  20. Bregman and Tucker are my preferences , in that order........if not either of them, then a pitcher.
  21. I will give my 2 cents.........................Just reading stats and how the player played last yr in Elizabethton and getting a promotion to Cedar Rapids, I would guess Max Murphy. Batting .390 last 10 games avg to .259, that is my guess .................oh yea, i forgot Trey Vavra, 1st Base hitting .327, I would have guess Tyler Kuresa was better, but stats are not showing it.
