Honestly, I don't envy the new FO at all. They're new with the organization and are probably still trying to find their footing both within and without the organization. This is going to be tough for both management and fans. It's a wait and see. Although, anything less than a train wreck is probably a successful season.
Yeah, I have to agree with you. It has seemed to me that Mr. Mauer has not adjusted his approach as pitchers adjust to him. It looks to me like opposing pitchers are taking advantage of the free strike they are given.
Drat, I have to put on my serious hat. Here goes: The Twins only spend in the FA market if they're only a piece or two short of putting together a playoff contender. This is the year a lot of the youngsters need to show they have what it takes to produce in the big leagues. If the Twins pitching falls on its face again, then the solution is not just a pitcher from the FA market. One pitcher does not make a staff. /serious hat off.
The "someone needs to step up" approach. I completely agree. I would argue that it's also the job of the manager to identify the players who can lead and motivate them to lead.
I'm surprised you didn't wind up with a funny white canvas coat, you know, the one with the arms crossed and your own special handlers in that special place for special people.
What's interesting is that this site could easily have become a Frankenstein monster. Instead, it's butterflies, unicorns and skittles. (Hey, the Twins season hasn't started yet, so, I'm optimistic. And maybe on drugs)
Brock who? Seriously, though, the site is a lot of fun and keep up the great work everyone, mods, contributors, general smart-alecs (a little self-promotion never hurts). That means you too, Mr. Beauchamp.
