  1. I wonder if he gets angry or confused when he sees the Disney movies or if kept waiting for the birds to come blind the stepsisters in Cinderella.
  2. I feel at one time this could have been a Leslie Nielsen movie, although probably his later movies and not in his Airplane/Naked Gun prime. I just watched Rings of Power. It had its flaws, but I thought it was entertaining when all was said and done. However, my Middle Earth Second Age knowledge is a little rusty, and I was not going to notice if one of the plot developments was not true to a footnote in Lord of the Rings or a passage in one of Tolkien's unfinished works or note. I don't think the people more immersed in the Tolkien world were exactly happy about it.
  3. Heck - ten to 15 years ago you did not even need cable to watch the weekend games on channel 29. You also used to be able to catch a fair amount of the Wild games that way as well. [Just saw you addressed that in your point 3.)] They really have made it harder to watch pro sports in general without cable except for the NFL and even there, you cannot watch MNF which for years was on ABC.
  4. I won tickets in the company box suite - the only time I submitted my name to win tickets (why do I not do that more?). Usually when you are those suites most people not paying attention to the game. All the windows were open and am surprised no one fell out everyone was so glued to the game. By far the best game I have ever seen in person. Who could not have predicted that Casila would have the hit to send the team into the play-offs.
  5. Going to be a rough day for some with the Twins Hall of Fame announcement. Not there are not about a million other milestones with his kids where he will miss his Dad more, but too bad Jake did not get to see this (the Twins Hall of Fame -- not Stu's article, although that as well).
  6. Are you suggesting that the next time Joe has to give a speech at Target Field he is not going to make comments how his wife filled out her shirt? I heard an interview of Trevor Plouffe somewhere where he was asked about Mauer and he said he was closet hysterical, He also said you assume him being that nice is somewhat an act when you meet him and then at some point you realize, he is that nice. I probably err on the side of being too much of a Mauer homer, but I will still see internet comments or tweets about a sports event and someone manages to bring up Mauer's contract or bilateral weakness. I want to say, it might be time to let it go and move on.
  7. I think the real issue for the traffic back-up, is that the motorcade would not go faster than five miles below the speed limit, would not run any yellow lights, and would stop traffic anytime an old lady wanted to cross the street.
  8. I haven't paid that close attention to the east, but know they were on fire in the early season. What happened to them (not that I mind them crashing and burning) key injuries, playing above their abilities early-on, something to do with a goat?
  9. And egocentric celebrities like Mauer who inconvenience everyone by closing down the Dairy Barn for hours so he and his entourage can have it all to themselves as he drinks his milk from a crystal champagne glass.
  10. I know the preseason is not really for the starters and veterans and is to determine who should make the team, but I am not sure I have ever seen a preseason where a number of the starters did not even get on the field once. I wonder if there will be a bit more rust evident during the opening game.
  11. Let's just hope the Twins don't have to deal with anything that happened in the later years of the series.... I suspect it was not following the books by the point of burning blind schools.
