  1. The real question is can he make the necessary adjustments to how pitchers pitched him the last part of the season. Weight or muscle mass will mean nothing if he doesn't. If he does make the adjustments we will have so many other positive things to talk about.
  2. There are a fair amount of bullpen arms out there unsigned. Pretty sure the FO is playing the waiting game for a great bargain.
  3. Why? 2 good young pitchers for a relief pitcher in his middle 30's? There are plenty of relief pitcher free agents out there that will cost nothing but money. Michael Fulmer anybody if there is a need to add to bullpen. I would rather have the above 3 pitchers in 3 years than a departed Trevor May.
  4. Wouldn't a final bullpen spot be good for a reliever who can throw multiple innings? Maybe a starting pitcher who does not make the rotation. He can then piggyback a short start without using multiple bullpen arms. He could do this 3 times in a 2 week period saving a lot of bullpen appearances.
  5. Maturation is the key word. It takes more than physical ability to play at the major league level. He has been delivered a wake up call. Now it is up to him what he does with it. Here is hoping he makes the best of it in St. Paul.
  6. Let the playing field decide what action or non action needs to be taken. Even by his not so pretty 2022 stats he is economically priced as far as payroll and value are concerned, There is a chance he rebounds with the new rules and even swipes some bags. If that happens you have a valuable piece going forward whether on the field or to trade. If he stays at 2022 levels on the field you still have the same value at the trade deadline as you have now. My hope and prediction is that he finally gets it and adjusts launch angle on his swing and we will enjoy watching him play for the Twins this year.
  7. This is no guarantee for success but I certainly like where this roster is compared to last year even at the end of spring training when the additions were made. If the above article is correct in outlining the FO strategy I am very optimistic about this season and the ones to come. Now comes the fun part - playing the games.
  8. All the critics of the FO in November and December get ready to eat your words.
  9. Crazy to even think about trading Miranda. This kid will work his butt off to improve defense and will get it done. He can also play first base. the Twins need to keep trying to get more athletic. Their base running, base stealing and defense must improve. We need more guys like Miranda not getting rid of them.
  10. This is why you wait until the offseason is over to criticize the FO. And there is probably more to come.
  11. Not saying he is a SS. But remember Derek Jeter"s first season in the minors. This kid is an athlete who can hit. take a walk and steal bases. Oh and he hits right handed. They will find a position for him, he will work at it and become MLB adequate or better.
  12. An outfield of Gallo, Buxton and Kepler against right handed pitching looks good to me. Great defense, athletic and good speed on the basepaths. Everyone picks apart Gallo's numbers but the fact is his career numbers at Target Field are good. Will that translate to a full season remains to be seen but he also can be flipped at the trade deadline. The 2 biggest causes of our collapse were blown saves and depth last year. So what if Larnach or any other younger player has to start the season in the minor leagues. Those are decisions all good clubs have to make. Let the FO do their job and we can judge them at the end of the season. To do that now or say they should have done this or that does not carry any weight at present time.
  13. I am judging the FO by how we adjust to the new rule changes. Everything starts there and is followed through on the field. If we continue to play station to station baseball with poor execution on hit and run, bunting, hitting behind runners and base stealing then Target Field will have a further reduction in attendance. There is no excuse everything is on time this year and spring training will be normal. TK made sure there was attention to detail on even the smallest things. It is up to FO to demand that and Rocco to get it done.
