  1. Sounds like Travis has a good head on his shoulders plus the talent to move up the rankings. You have to love the command so far in his journey. Go get'm Travis!
  2. Boy I do not see the ceiling in Steer that I do with Lewis. Steer seems like a utility infielder with a solid hit tool with mediocre power and solid fielding. Lewis may not have quite the hit tool of Steer but the athleticism and power are much better. I would still put Royce ahead of Steer but the injury concerns may be dragging Lewis' down at Fangraphs.
  3. If management is confident in the ACL rehab and recovery I think it should be pursued. If you want to be a place where players want to go, then treating athletes you respect with respect goes along way. I know it is a business, but the team should know the nitty gritty about their stars or potential stars. Reaching out to a player that is going through a tough time and saying we got you, we trust you and let's help your cash flow and buyout those pesky arbitration years.
  4. Salas more than held his own against competition 2-3 yrs older with a 20% K rate and a 9% walk rate. At 18 they expect the power to improve and he has tremendous bat speed. The strong hit tool gives him a higher floor than most prospects. Plus he is from a great baseball family with his dad and uncle playing professionally and his brother. The high baseball IQ probably helped with his great base running, swiping 33 of 34 stolen base attempts.
  5. I received my Twins Prospect rankings from Prospects Live yesterday and this is how they ranked him. They are not kind to Wallner and Balazovic. 1. Brooks Lee, SS - 55 OFP 2. Royce Lewis, SS - 50 OFP 3. Emmanuel Rodriguez, OF - 50 OFP 4. Edouard Julien, 2B - 50 OFP 5. Connor Prielipp, LHP - 50 OFP 6. Louie Varland, RHP - 50 OFP 7. Simeon Woods Richardson, RHP - 50 OFP 8. Marco Raya, RHP - 50 OFP 9. Jose Salas, SS - 50 OFP 10. Austin Martin, SS - 45 OFP 11. David Festa, RHP - 45 OFP 12. Matt Canterino, RHP - 45 OFP 13. Tanner Schobel, SS - 45 OFP 14. Yasser Mercedes, OF - 45 OFP 15. Misael Urbina, OF - 45 OFP 16. Jose Rodriguez, OF - 45 OFP 17. Noah Miller, SS - 45 OFP 18. Jordan Balazovic, RHP - 45 OFP 19. Alejandro Hidalgo, RHP - 45 OFP 20. Matt Wallner, OF - 40 OFP 21. Ronny Henriquez, RHP - 40 OFP 22. Cole Sands, RHP - 40 OFP 23. Danny De Andrade, SS/3B - 40 OFP 24. Aaron Sabato, 1B - 40 OFP 25. Michael Helman, UTIL - 40 OFP 26. Blayne Enlow, RHP - 40 OFP 27. Cory Lewis, RHP - 40 OFP 28. Sean Mooney, RHP - 40 OFP 29. Bryan Acuna, SS - 40 OFP 30. Ben Ross, UTIL - 40 OFP
  6. I agree and with a mid level budget we need to use every club in the bag to improve the team. We cannot afford to ignore the Asian market just because we have had some issues. We must comb every market and every angle to get an advantage.
  7. I've heard the Padres are looking for SP'ers as they are a little nervous about Lugo, Martinez and Morejon on the back end of the rotation. So they need insurance in case one or more of these guys falter.
  8. I'm thinking we may need to call for a welfare check on the FO as no one has heard from them in quite sometime.
  9. From what I read Story's shoulder is bad enough that he can no longer play on the left side of the infield. Hernandez is currently the best SS option unless the rush Mayer to the bigs. Devers will need to be a 1B man in the not-too-distant future. So, if the Red Sox want to move forward with Kepler and Arraez then Arraez would need to man third and Verdugo or Kepler in Center with Hernandez/Mayer at SS. If I'm the Red Sox, I'm not likely to see this is a good solution short or long term.
  10. I don't personally love any of those deals. Maybe Swanson but I think it was an overpay but we could have survived it. Rodon - Injury Risk seldom has he made 30 GS Swanson - Regression Thor - Has lost velo since surgery Bassitt - Age related regression is possible
  11. Miranda looks like a weak side platoon DH to me. He is so stiff in the field I just don't see him being an average or better fielder. However, I would avoid this list of third sackers. If we could solve the SS situation, then Farmer could play some third along with Arraez while Lee develops. Sounds like Lee is more of a 3B guy from the scouting reports I've read.
  12. I want the Twins to actually field a team with a set of twins. So I'd been hoping for Tyler to be in Minnesota rather than vice versa. One day I'll get my wish.
  13. Sorry about the video I'm not sure how that got into my posting.
  14. Trevor Bauer's Suspension Reduced To 194 Games; Bauer Reinstated, Effective Immediately - MLB Trade Rumors

  16. Sounds like Trevor Bauer may be released by the Dodgers and his suspension is lifted. Trevor comes with a great deal of baggage but he was an ACE. Do the Twins make a risky deal to get a potential ACE that is still relatively young?
  17. At this point I hate to give up the draft capital or deplete the farm system anymore. So I'm out on Eovaldi and Adames. Relievers are needed badly but I prefer Chafin but Smith is fine. Getting Brad Hand sounds good as maybe he'd like to play in his home state. I think we should roll with Farmer at SS and see how Lewis performs after 2 knee surgeries. I wish we would have pursued Wil Myers instead of Gallo just a gut feeling on Myers but he is a righty bat.
  18. Time to start the rebuild. Joy to the world another rebuild.
  19. Can we at least sign good ballplayers. Guys that can put wood on the ball so we at least stand a chance of getting a hit. No one wants to see this dude shaking his head walking back to the dugout 200 times. Not to mention the $11 million we dished out, we could have signed Andrew Chafin or a very good reliever for that and filled a need. Geez this sounds like a Bill Smith move.
  20. Team has too many holes to fill and/or question marks for this year, so I'd roll with Farmer and see if Lewis or Lee develop. We need to trade some of our injury prone outfielders for gamers, maybe mid season moves to increase their value. May want to move Polanco and Gray now for mlb ready talen but please no more injured Pitchers. Crap I can't believe I'm leaning toward another rebuild.
  21. I heard that Cole Hamels is considering a comeback, is this 39 year old worth a minor league deal. I'm sure he could teach the staff a thing or two about pitching and winning.

  23. I think we have too many Q's on the roster. Kirilloff wrist, Jeffers hitting, Miranda to 3rd, Polanco & Kepler rebound, Larnach developing, Buxton health, 32 yr old SS. How do you trust that all this will go your way, enough so that you spend crazy money on a guy or two? Almost looks like a year where you see how things break with what you have and trade to either build up or tear down.
