  1. Everything this guy said is correct! Thank you for putting this together. We need more of it on here.
  2. I don’t like the move. Good for 2022 sure and might not be bad in the long run. But the problem is the Twins should be going into full on rebuild mode. This is the move of a FO that is insecure it won’t be around in two years or even one. Falvey and Levine don’t have the equity with the organization and fan base to go into a rebuild mode because their failings are the reason it’s needed. Thus a move like this done in desperation to “compete” this year. A competitive pitching staff is not going to be built here in 3 weeks, and the FO is making moves in hopes of saving their own jobs in the short term. These things never end well and are part of the cycles of organizations that spend full generations in the league’s doldrums
  3. Unlike say soccer, and at times football, baseball has never had a tradition of flopping and faking injuries. Could this be the beginning? Cause if Grandal gets on in that situation I’m wanting Clippard to hit the grass.
  4. Why two photos of Gibson? Aren’t we looking forward to not having to see Kyle Gibson this year? And here have two photos of Gibson!
  5. Guy throws f***ing lightning bolts out of his right arm. I’m sad he’s gone, he’ll be the Dodgers closer before too long and his play on the mound will do all the talking it needs to. Red Sox make me absolutely want to throw up.
  6. Thanks Seth. Is it just because he’s a starter? Don’t talk right handed starting pitching prospects flame out/not pan out all the time? Graterol is the rarer talent isn’t he? Graterol could have been a force out of the bullpen this year, and chance Balazovic makes up that lost value? Trading Graterol is sacrificing talent from the pen to improve the rotation. Wouldn’t trading Balazovic have been trading value from the farm to improve the rotation? That would’ve been the better move for 2020 right?
  7. Yes I know and knew they were bad rumors, though it was what I was hoping to happen, the veracity I’d the rumors makes no diff even I am only providing context for how I saw people on Twitter saying Balazovic > than Graterol. Now that Graterol is gone I’m requesting that someone make that argument to me (I don’t know much about Balazovic) as it would make me feel better about losing Graterol. Graterol could have been a dominant force out of the pen this year, does Balazovic offer that same upside?
  8. Whoa whoa whoa. There were rumors both ways, see the link below which has the Tweets that spurred all that, clearly says Balazovic “replacing” Graterol, and when that was floating around there were Twins people, including people active on this site, who were saying Balazovic > Graterol. Is Balazovic > than Graterol? If is it’s news to me, and now they we have to say good bye to the Bruiser who was going to be our right handed 2018 Josh Hader, I would like to be convinced that Balazovic is actually better than Graterol and I would prefer an argument that did not overly rely on the “a starter is more valuable than a reliever” argument. I gotta believe I’ll have some takers out there. https://www.believeinbostonsports.com/2020/02/07/breaking-the-mookie-betts-trade-is-done-balazovic-replaces-graterol/
  9. Can someone enlighten me…is this better than having the same deal where Balazovic is traded instead of Graterol. I loved what I saw from the Bruiser, guy threw lightning out if his right arm. I wanted him in the bullpen this year. When there were brief rumors that Balazovic would it take his stead in the trade I was surprised to see many Twins followers saying that would be a worse deal for the Twins.
  10. …what the?……have we not spent the entire day obsessively reloading Twitter? Are we really just pretending…I don’t get it…I’m out fellas…I’m out.
  11. If he can go 3 or 4 innings per start without gettin obliterated for 6 weeks before we get Big Mike it’s solid
  12. Use the financial resources you have to extend Buxton, Sano, Berrios, Rogers, and Duffey TK reasonable contracts that you negotiate with leverage because they are not free agents.
  13. There is nothing that makes sense about sacrificing long term resources, money or players, for short term gain for an organization like the Twins and the market they are in. I hate to break it to everyone but this team is 6 months away from embarking on a “mini rebuild”. Cruz, Odorizzi, Gonzalez, Rosario, Romo, Clippard, and even Pineda will all be able to catch valuable return in July. It makes way more sense for them to do that and double down on talent that is under team control for the coming years.
  14. I’m not so sure that Teheran and Bailey having given up more hits to pitchers than Bumgarner is an argument in their favor.
  15. I’m going to read the article but first I would just like to use this space to express my contempt for Rob Manfred. Thank you.
  16. Is it a concern to anyone that Wheeler has never pitched up to 200 innings?
  17. An article that breaks down the umpiring crew might be interesting. It looks like we have a crew that is entirely being in states west of the Mississippi except for Manny Gonzalez who was born in Venezuela. This includes a crew chief (Cederstrom) who is from North Dakota and another umpire from Iowa.
  18. For everyone worrying about Phil Cuzzi that ship has been avoided. As have the Angel Hernandez, Joe West, Laz Díaz, and Ramon de Jesus ships as well. Although Díaz behind the plate can be an advantage if you work him the right way. Link below lists the umpiring crew. https://www.pinstripealley.com/2019/10/1/20894203/umpiring-crew-announced-for-yankees-alds-games
