  1. Berrios got squeezed by the umpire in NY. Ok. That happens to everybody in NY. But then he started pitching scared. The other day against Cincinnati, it looked, again, like he was pitching scared.
  2. Right now, I can't see Castro or Garver picking it up: same same Morrison & Grossman..
  3. Please continue to post Paul Molitor's postgame interviews. It's a boon to those of us who are out-of-market fans. Thanks.
  4. I think Kennys Vargas is out. He has the potential to be a David Ortiz type hitter. But there's that word again - potential. Good luck to you, Kennys.
  5. You were right the first time. They went in there begging to get beat down.
  6. Please pardon my ignorance. Is there any news on Byung-Ho (Sp?) Park's rehab from pulled hammy?
  7. I love a good 'young-unknown-player-from-out-of-nowhere' success story. I hope these ballplayers succeed. Nice story.
  8. The baseball chief and the general manager have a plan for this team. A big part of that plan is to hire their own manager. The easiest way to delete the current manager is to allow him to lose..... a lot. Any roster moves they may make at this time will not be designed to make the team better.
  9. Ah. So Robbie Grossman can continue to spike himself in the outfield and take called 3rd strikes at the plate. Anyone think the new braintrust is trying to hogtie Paul Molitor?
  10. If two out of that bunch can be effective in the Major Leagues, that would be a big deal.
  11. Maybe, instead of working on his slice, Dozier should temper his lust for pulling fastballs that are 6" off the plate outside.
  12. Baseball is my first love, a love that has gone for over 60 years. And like so many first loves, baseball is joyful, exciting, unforgettable, and fickle. The game stomps on my heart and shatters my soul and gives me pleasures unimaginable. This has been quite a season. Thank you Twins Daily for making my indulgences even more pleasurable. And thank you for making the off-season tolerable. That's too many .....ables for one small paragraph.
  13. Yes, I love to watch games that count this late in the season. It's my raison d'etre (sp?) And I really enjoy road trips to Kansas City during the season. In fact I was on my way to KC this week, when car problems foiled my plans. Something worries me, though. Can they continue to win ballgames in spite of the offensive offenses of both Brian Dozier and Trevor Plouffe in the second half of the season? These guys are stinking it up at the plate. Is there reason to hope? I hope so.
  14. I'm thinking it might help just a tiny bit if Brian Dozier started getting a hit here and there. He's been monsterly unwatchable for the last 5 weeks. Looks like a pattern for him. Maybe he needs to play only half seasons.
  15. So, what are the ramifications of not signing Kyle Cody? Don't lead with something like that and then drop it.
  16. I think the most devastating blow was Morneau's concussion. He was at the top of his game, having a career year in a career filled with greatness. He never got that back. Mauer's decline seems to be directly related to Morneau's. When Mauer was at his best, a healthy MVP-class Justin Morneau was batting right behind him.
  17. Perkins and Dozier (Dozier probably out of luck with a few very good 2nd basemen in the league: Altuve, Cano, Pedroia, Kinsler, etc.).
  18. Well written piece. And of course last night Boyer gives up a dinger. I'll give him a pass on this one. After all, it was McCutcheon. Tee Hee.
