Tecmo's Achievements

  1. The Rockies had to make that deal, even if they likely won't like the deal toward the end. Blackmon is one of their most popular players, they don't have a ready replacement like the Twins do for Dozier and, most importantly, they need to show this kind of commitment if they want to get Arenado signed to a long term deal. Get those two locked up and they're in good shape to be competitive for the next few years. They definitely make some odd decisions (that Desmond deal is completely stupid) but I don't think this is one. As a fan (they're my second team since I live in Denver now) it's nice to finally see some commitment to at least try to win.
  2. I think Mauer retires when his contract expires. Stewart won't get picked, the only reason to suggest he would is his draft status.
  3. Can we bring back Pat Neshek? Has the experience the Twins could use even if he hasn't spent much time as a closer.
  4. Hate me if you want, but I'd love to see them draft Nick Allen here. Then load up on pitchers.
  5. All I can think at this point is the FO is aiming for another year of control on Berrios.
  6. Vs Righties 1B Mauer SS Polanco 3B Sano 2B Dozier RF Kepler DH Park CF Buxton C Castro LF Rosario Vs Lefties DH Grossman SS Polanco 3B Sano 2B Dozier 1B Park RF Kepler CF Buxton C Gimenez LF Rosario I don't want Dozier leading off, wastes his power. Put Buxton behind the power, let him be aggressive and steal bases.
  7. I have to admit, those numbers do surprise me. But until we find someone who can get on base consistently, I don't think that having him bat behind Escobar, who tends to get into scoring position when he gets on base, is a bad thing. Maybe we let Escobar lead off as previously suggested and Mauer hits two behind him.
  8. Well, that's one less at bat and players at the bottom of the order are less likely to get on base ahead of him. Works even better with Escobar batting 9th as a lot of his hits are for extra bases.
  9. Honestly, I'd bat Mauer lead off, at least until Buxton is ready to take over that spot. He's still the best Twin at getting on base and that's job one for a lead off hitter. And he likes to take pitches, which is an asset batting first. The biggest negative is his lack of speed, but at least if he bats first he can't hit into a double play.
  10. Murphy looks like a Suzuki caliber bat with better defense. Not an all star but the potential to be a cheap, solid starter there for awhile. Far enough exchange for Hicks.
  11. I'm terrified the Twins will bring Cuddyer back to replace Hunter. You know the Mets would love to dump that salary for next season.
  12. This is what I'm terrified is going to happen actually. You'd think the Mets would love to move Cuddyer and I could see the Twins looking at him as a perfect replacement for Hunter.
