  1. For me, I don't care about his lack of velocity. I just am concerned that he was losing velocity at the end of the season.
  2. It will be interesting what they do if it's McKay. I think his bat is better than his pitching at this point.
  3. I wouldn't say it won't happen. Even with cutting a deal Lewis would be making more money and so would boras
  4. I think Romero drops more than people think. And I don't think he's in play at 35 or 37. I'm thinking prep arms.
  5. Lewis would save money, for sure. His swing has too many holes for my liking. We would really have to nail the next few picks for me to be ok with this.
  6. Boy, we have come a long way. I can remember a time when we had little to no middle infield prospects. Nice to have several doing very well.
  7. I don't buy they are taking McKay as a pitcher at 1. I just don't think he's an impact guy.
  8. I like Gore a lot. I like him a little more than Wright even. I like that he already has off speed to go with the mid 90s fastball.
  9. Although I prefer Gore, I'm more than ok with Wright. Watched a little of his last start and I was impressed.
  10. I know he's only in AA , but Curtiss really intrigues me.I guess I'm hoping we see him sooner than later.
  11. He is a fill in. They are obviously gonna send Hicks up to AAA and make him earn his way back. Florimon was/is terrible and the team hasn't missed him at all.
  12. I don't think i want him to fail so to speak, but id rather see May and Meyer. Deduno is what he is, i don't think he will ever be a guy that you can really count on.

    Farm System thoughts

This is my first blog ever, so be gentle. I have a son who is 8 years old, and to my delight, has started following the TWINS. He hears about all these exciting prospects( Buxton, Sano, etc...) and wonders who were the big prospects when i was growing up. First of all, i was old enough where there was no internet, no FSN. I had to rely on The Baseball Digest, Baseball America, and Herb and John for info. The guy that i remember getting the biggest hype was Derek Parks. A power hitting catcher that played seemingly forever in A ball, and Willie Banks a hard throwing pitcher from New jersey. That was about it. You had the parent club relying on Les Straker, Mike Smithson, Fred Tolliver and other retreads. Mark Davison was with the team for most of 1987, but i believe that was the only year i remember him. I also have the distinction of being at the game where Sal Butera debuted as a Twin. Sorry... i get off track a lot. So when i see all these prospects today, i can't help but to be excited. The toolsy 5 tool outfielders? I love that we have them. It means the memory of Carmello Castillo fades a little. Pitchers with electric stuff? yes, means i can foget about the Allan Andersons of yesteryear. No more nightmares of Gary Wayne, Francisco Oliveras, Lee Tunnel. So in closing, be thankful for what we have, because it never used to be this way. Thank you for your time.

  15. Hey John. I ordered the handbook on October 28th and it never came to my email. Can you help?
