  1. Can we please finally get rid of the front office and Rocco now? It's hard to do worse.
  2. I agree with the main idea behind the article. The Twins are sinking fast and need to pick it up in many ways. However. I don't agree with the need to sign Correa. I think signing him would make things worse. If they sign him, there's little money for anything else. Then there's the for-certain back end of the contract disaster. All this for a 60 RBI guy who didn't make a significant difference until the end of the year when the Twins were already out of it. When it mattered, his clutch hitting was terrible. But even if he plays great, teams can simply pitch around him. Filling one position hole, with so many others in need will not solve all the problems. And as stated earlier, his signing by itself won't do much for attendance. I think most Twins fans have lost that new season optimism that usually most baseball fans have to begin a fresh season. They know it will be just more of the same crap. They could start by admitting the front office and especially manager didn't get it done, and please, please, please, start over. Fans over time have accepted low expectations, but they don't like hopelessness.
  3. It's called settling. Us Twins fans are used to it. It used to be that the corner outfield positions required a fair amount offense. I guess we'll settle for a defensive specialist.
  4. As if you couldn't find another pitcher with a little upside with less baggage. The front office knew this would be a very unpopular move with the fans. The fans are already frustrated and mad. Slap them in the face again and display bewilderment as to why the attendance is getting to be a problem. Wow. Just another move that's really hard to defend.
  5. I like the idea of dumping Pagan, Sano, Rocco. Addition by subtraction!! Too bad it couldn't happen.
  6. 365 days from now, we will be having the same discussions. The Twins will again be a below average team playing in a terrible division again. The injuries will be an excuse again. The pitching will be uninspiring. The in-game decision making from Rocco will again be rock bottom. We missed the playoffs again. And Pohlad announces they are keeping the management in place. Groundhog Day. Some TD fans will complain that some of us are negative for some reason.
  7. I guess I'm the only one that's not fired up about a cheater than went unpunished.
  8. Many of the previous comments present excellent arguments. I loved the employee vs boss segment. Here are some of the things I totally agree with: 1. JP is ultimately responsible. He's the only one that can try to repair what is obviously broken. 2. No sense in separating the front office from Rocco. They are together in this mess. FO's statements supporting Rocco confirmed this. The front office is either accepting of, or oblivious to Rocco's massive shortcomings. 3. Injuries happen. It is a sad excuse. When you sign players with injury histories, you take a chance. You shouldn't get to pout about it when the inevitable happens. Some injuries like Sano's actually benefitted the team. I am completely baffled why so many fans (and I mean big fans) of the Twins accept excuses, losing, and terrible baseball. Why do they give those responsible for this, a pass? Why agree with their excuses? Why not expect better? You know where this is going already. Next year will be a big disappointment. They will underachieve in baseball's worst division yet again. They will invent new excuses and recycle old ones. What definite signs do you have to bank on that this cluster won't happen again? Rocco's Pagan will be someone else next year. Count on it.
  9. This seems like another excuse article. Can't really blame the F. O. Can't really blame the manager. Poor guys... What are they to do when some of their players didn't play better than expected? Like stated in many posts, several players performed within a range that was expected. They just don't have a bunch of all-stars. When you don't have the studs, or at least a bunch of players having career years, the importance of management really shows up. When your team doesn't hit 200 homers, you have to do the little things correctly to win. When you have a Rocco, this will never happen. And the front office has to be blamed too. They were the ones that hired him and now have double-downed on him after another dismal season. When you can't win a playoff game when the entire team is playing great as in 2019, you certainly are not going to win when they are not. Or at least not with management. Seeing more empty seats in the future.
  10. The Twins organization as currently constructed does more wrong than right. This is a direct reflection of the management and front office (who are so tied together, they can't be separated). It is super sad that next season will be more of the same. Without change in the near future, only the most diehard fans will continue to enjoy this site or bother to go to a game. Hope is the most important thing for a Twins fan. Change is the only way to get it back.
