Twins 2023 Position Analysis: Catcher

Stop calling Jeffers the future. His arm is so limited and the league has figured out he can't hit a curve ball. Just like Larnach. Both look like Sano against cutters! -

The Twins Dark Horse Designated Hitter
MGM4706 replied to Ted Schwerzler's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Stop mentioning Larnach. He is a clone of Sano. He can't hit a breaking ball and the league has figured it out!! He needs a full year in St. Paul to figure it out. Plus he can learn how to play the outfield MN wall!- 34 replies

Was disappointing that by all accounts he refused help from various hitting instructors to learn to hit to the opposite field like Detroit's Miggy did early to then have a HOF career!

Twins Awkwardly Add Max Kepler Back to Group Chats
MGM4706 replied to RandBalls Stu's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
With the change in the Shift rule Kep will add 30-40 points to his average. Twins should keep him. Larnach should be the one on the way out. League has figured out he can't hit a breaking ball. Just like Sano. Plus his range is 3 feet to his left and 3 feet to his right and has NO CLUE on how to play the wall. Send him on his way! -
The Twins Forgotten Center Fielder
MGM4706 replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Twins coaches need to look in the mirror. Not one of their young Players know how to play an outfield wall. This includes Celistino!! That's on Gardenhire in St Paul and lower level managers!! -
The Twins Need to be Realistic With Max Kepler
MGM4706 replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
WOW! Someone needs to do a little research before authoring articles. With the new shift rule change Kepler's average will jump 30 points! And Larnach? Come on. His Range is 3 feet left and right and he has no clue on how to play the wall! No improvement at all. And the league has figured out he can't hit a cutter. Last 50 at bats were horrible. Much like Sano. So don't count on him.- 70 replies

Keeping the Rolls Royce in the Garage
MGM4706 replied to Alex Boxwell's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It is just to bad nobody ever took the time to teach Buxton how to play the wall. Some say it can't be done with a player like Buxton. Not true. When Ron Leflore came out of prison and played for Detroit he ran into the wall or flagpole in center every other day. They worked with him every day and he figured it out. Buxton could have done it but instead he didn't get the help and got all the injuries that now make him a shell of what he could have been! And now the league may have figured him out with cutters and change-ups. He was looking like Sano the last half!! With the new CF from KC it looks like Buxton will be the DH. Maybe it will work. -
Twins MUST trade Arraez! If not they will be a sub 500 team again. He has no real position and doesn't turn all those singles into doubles like Ichiro did because he can't run. Get pitching! Your trade is not even worth discussing. To much talent given up. Kepler will be back with the new shift rule!

Rocco Baldelli; The Perfect Modern Manager
MGM4706 commented on Nick Hanzlik's blog entry in Twins on Wheat; Add Mayo
One thing I forgot to mention about Rocco or it may be more about Gardenhire in St. Paul is the lack of improvement in teaching the kids how to play the wall! Not one of them show any knowledge in that area. Buxton has improved a little and Kepler is good. But the others? Disaster. Larnach - Totally lost. Celestino? Speed - but playing the wall - forget it. Kiroloff at First Base: Shys away from the wall every time. It is known Rocco is a players manager but can't he still demand they get out there before or after games and learn their profession? -

Rocco Baldelli; The Perfect Modern Manager
MGM4706 commented on Nick Hanzlik's blog entry in Twins on Wheat; Add Mayo
Someone has been smoking that whacky tobacky! If you think you can put Rocco and the word great in the same sentence you are delusional!! Yes, they use the numbers to make decisions but you still need to have a feel for the game and know when to over-ride those numbers. Rocco can't do that. Ask Dave St. Peter if he thinks Rocco is great as St. Peter sees ticket sales continue to slide into the dumpster. Great Managers inspire their fan bases. Rocco does the opposite! "Great"? How amusing,! -
3 Twins Prospects that Need Healthy 2023 Seasons

No doubt the Pitchers are the most important. Remember we already had poor pitching down the stretch and now with the shift change even more hits will get through!!- 10 replies

"Depth"? Quite amusing. There is very little "QUALITY" depth on the roster. When you lose one of the best Left-Sides in baseball for 2022 and the answer is Miranda and Farmer that is not Depth. In the outfield with Buxton now a 2 game a week player, where is the quality depth for him? Larnach is like Sano. The league figured out he can't hit a breaking ball and his defense is atrocious. 3 feet to his left and 3 feet to his right. And playing the wall? Forget it. And HEALTHY Pitching? Not much depth there either. So look again when evaluating the front office Whiz Kids. They got DRAMATICALLY out-maneuvered this off season with Free Agents and Trades.
