Article: Phil Hughes Surgery Is No Guaranteed Fix
shs_59 replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Disagree entirely with TROY HOBBS this is great news.... Good for Phill and i bet by July of 2017 we see 85-95% of the 2014 Phill Hughes dominate ace Phill Hughes holds the ALL-TIME mlb record for K:BB ratio and BB ratio in the '14 season he walked 18 batters whila ammasing around 200 innings!- 22 replies

Seth, in our Scenerios we can both kiss Byung Ho-Park good -bye Eddie Rosario good-bye as well. Kyle Gibson in You're Scenerio and Nick "can he stay healthy" Burdi in mine **I just get the Bullock, Slama, Delaney, even Adam Johnson vibe from Burdi *ok just Billy Bullock and how about Luke Bard? ....even Madison Boer? all flopped; although if you include Burdi amongst those names , 1 name is clearly not like the other.....

1. Berrios - a nice building block but no #TOR arm. 2. Buxton - not saying he's going to be a superstar, let alone a star, but even if he's close to a RH version of Matt Lawton with better D i'd take that. 3. Sano - terrible defensively but maybe slightly above average offensively 4. Dozier - an absolute gem at the 2nd base position, the Twins should of locked him up when they had the chance (instead they bought out exactly 0 YRS of ARBitration, WHY exactly?) By a pure WAR basis i wouldnt be surprised if Dozier puts up the most WAR in his career on this whole list. Twin or not. 5. Duffey. 6. Rosario .............................. wait of it ................. , Randy 7. Jorge Polanco 8. Trevor Hildenberger 9. J.T. Chargois 10. Max Kepler 11. Stephen Gonsalves 12. Tyler Jay 13. Kyle Gibson 14. Ryan Pressly , or maybe Griffin Jax 15. Nick Gordon (athough Engelb Vielma is giving him a better run for the money at the moment) The only thing is that leaves us in a flux for catching; hopefully the Roertvedt kid from Wisconsin pans out OR we're going to need to hit on 1 of the following: Raines Silva, Kidnay Silva, A.J. Murray. *if you get lucky Roll with Eddie Rosario , Daniel Palka, Garver / Turner and Danny Santana too.

Hopefull to see the Balazovic deal get done. i'm ok with anything from 500K to 750 K for him to get it done. obviously we might not be able to go quite that high, which would be a shame. I could see his agent framing him as a 2nd round value, so they could want upwards of 900K....if thats the case, nothing will get finalized there unfortunately.

Article: Twins Add Two More on Thursday Night
shs_59 replied to Jeremy Nygaard's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I'm not too high on the Miranda pick but the Abdodoo pick is outstanding... So my grades thus far: (given the time and context of when and where each player was taken) 1.) Kirilloff - PA H.s. OF = B- 2.) Rodvert - Wis. H.S. C = B 3B .) Miranda - Puerto Rico H.S. SS = C 4B.) Akil Abdoo - Ga H.S. OF = A-- 16 replies

Trey Cabbage reminds me a little bit of Chipper Jones, now the only way that comes to fruition if he gets some serious help from MLB guys like Mauer , Plouffe ect. If Cabbage turns out to be 65% as good as Chipper we'd all take that and run! I wish I was as high on Palka as Seth is, but frankly i'm simply not. He looks like Parmelee 2.0 at best he's essentially a clankly defensively 1B or LF type who will strike out 120 to 150 times annually, sure he might have a bit more power than Parmelee ever showed sans that one September but Palka just strikes me as more of a 4 A masher than anything else. I have Palka in the 17, 18 range , so I still like him but 11 seems a bit high right now.

Blankenhorn reminds me of a 3 years ago prior Travis Harrison as i'm sure he does us all, but he definately has more athleticsm I"m kind of suprised Vielma ranks that low....he's around 14-18 overall for me. Still Great List on Yohan Quezada and Williams Ramirez will be fun to follow and especially Huscar Ynoa

I'm REALLY starting to warm up to the idea of Virginia Catcher Matt "Toby" Thaiss He looks like KYLE F'n Schwarber Obviously this only works if Thaiss sticks at catcher! (as Jeremy pointed out earlier that may not be the case. -a mini version of the Schwar machine) If Whitley , Collins , and Senzel are all off the board (along with Dakota Hudson obviously) Take Matt Thaiss!

Article: Twins Minor League Leaderboard (Through 5/6)
shs_59 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
What you don't understand the Twins can actually WIN on some trades? be on the 60/40 or 70/30 side of things Doc? it Doesn't always have to be 50/50 or 20/80 (Ramos for Capps ect.) as a Twins fan does it Doc? :The D'backs Gm Dave Stewart is one of the best guys to do deals with when he thinks his MLB club can win. Billy Beane at times also.- 11 replies

Article: What's Next For Byron Buxton?
shs_59 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Yes, you are right on with saying that. But I believe Dozier has about a total of 45- 50 games in AAA..... with a cumulative total of 225 AB's I remember Twins called him up out of desperation of another miserable season to Spark plug the offense So IT IS PLENTY defensible in this situation. But i was planning/ hoping Brian would of seen another 200+ AAA AB's... -
Dear John Bonnes, I lost a great deal of respect towards you. When about 3 months ago on You're Gleeman& the Geek podcast you kept proclaiming the Chicago White Sox did nothing "huge" in the off-season Brought in nobody that really "wows" you Umm... lets see I kept thinking to myself. : 1.) Todd "the godfather" Frazier 2.) Brett Lawrie 3.) Mat Latos 4.) Jimmy Rollins 5.) Austin Jackson Todd Frazier was a big move no? All in all, you're still a great person But I haven't listened to the podcast since then and will refuse to (and i'm sure i'm far from the only one)

Article: What's Next For Byron Buxton?
shs_59 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
1) It Was NEVER right not even in any way shape or form to Compare Buxton to Bryce Harper or Mike Trout or even to say he'll "follow in their footsteps" What the bleep is that bullsh1t who-EVER came up with such a ludicrous statement I've been saying for 2 1/2 years Buxton is NOT Trout nor Harper not close. 2.) The Twins flat out rushed him at nearly every level. Which i've also been saying for 2+ years. 3.) Buxton gets hurt a lot in the Minors. WHICH is OBVIOUSLY MORE REASON to SLOW THINGS f'ing DOWN with him NOT Speed them up as the Twins chose to do. Which makes no F'ing sense what so ever. 4. ) I was dead on right with Aaron Hicks and his Question of MLB readiness 2 and 3 years ago. NOT NICK NELSON who declared him all but our next torii hunter! 5.) The Twins will regret rushing all of : Eddie Rosario, Byron Buxton, and possibly Brian Dozier and Max Kepler ..... Dozier is feeling the affects ( BA ave down) You would of thought they would of learned their lesson With Aaron Hicks -
Article: Twins Promote Jose Berrios
shs_59 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Well, Damn Night shift! I will be "calling in sick" Wednesday night to catch it on TV ( We're lucky our FSNorth Cameramen are so awesome) Anyways, curios move though, I pictured Berrios up a week or 3 into May or even early June, but April? I thought Alexander Meyer would get the start on Wednesday....what gives? I think this is a TOTAL PR move, they want ticket sales badly.......WE ALL saw how few people were at the Twins - Indians game monday night...... it looked like 9,000 fans in the stands in total. -
Article: Floor To Ceiling: Berrios, Jay And Stewart
shs_59 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
1. ) Berrios (#2-#3 starter , or 7th inning reliever , slot reliever) 2. ) Jay (#3 - #4 starter , or 8th inning , 7th inning reliever) 3. ) Stewart (#3-5 starter , or quad A guy or middle / long reliever) Stephen Gonsalves i'd have somewhere between Jay and Stewart And Poor Alex Meyer, he probably won't be a Twin for long, hopefully he pans out as a shut down reliever, even if he's going to have the high walk rate. -
Article: Draft Blog, Entry 1 (2/9/16)
shs_59 replied to Jeremy Nygaard's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Well Done Jeremy, :-) At #17 / 18 overall i could see the Twins taking really ANY of those guys I LUV Ryan Boldt i wanted him bad as a H.S. Amatuer He proved he would of been a WORTHY H.S. comp pick or early 2nd rounder, 3 years ago....of course that was the year the twins had fewer picks i believe. I'd probably, even a few months from now, be Just fine with P Logan Shore as well. What do you think about William Benson ? He's been compared to a light Jason Heywaard.... AND as of right now, he's actually projected to go RIGHT AROUND where the Twins pick in round 1?- 43 replies

I like Wil Smith and Henry Me High A a lot too as Relievers (Jenrry Mejia) I too, wanted Smith back last deadline, but we settled for Cotts who is not too shabby actually! Quick assesment , I would think 80-90% of Twins fans and Twins daily members for that matter would be overwhelmingly grateful and positive with our New GM or even Apprentice GM. Even if Oswaldo within the next 2-3 years turns into an annual .275 hitter mashing 25-33 HR's a year while striking out 180-220 times! Things i would Change : Taylor Rogers would be in the competition with Abad and O"Rourke for that loogy type of spot (and should be the favorite) Hopefully May gets more of a chance to beat out Duffey for starting spot. ***Duffey could be in for a real sophmore slump !! (at least in ST and out of the gate) HOPE I'm WRONG on THAT! BTW, great job Jeremy

Ahhh Woa.... And you've been off Caffeine for how long? Amazing simply amazing use of time and space. The Brewers minor leagues has actually gone from bottom 5 (annually) to borderline top 10 tho. So they're not that bad off....on the MLB side of things....yeah , yikes

my prediction? MLB: LF Rosario, CF Santana, RF Sano. reserves : Ryan Sweeney , Eduardo Nunez , Oswaldo Arcia AAA: LF Walker , CF Buxton , RF Kepler reserves : Joe Benson , Darin Mastroianni AA: LF Harrison , CF Goodrum , RF Palka reserves : S. WIlkerson , Chad Christensen A+ : Tanner English, Max Murphy, Austin Diemer, Chris Paul or LaMonte Wade?

shs_59 replied to Jeremy Nygaard's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I'll take a stab.... #1 Jorge Polanco (twins need to keep his arb years ahead of him the best they can untill Dozier's are thinned out) #2 Jermaine Polacios (going on a limb here) #3 Tyler Jay #4 Stephen Gonsalves #5 Nick Gordon --- #6 Kohl Stewart (nice little rebound season, nothing spetacular) #7 Wander Javier (ITs sooo nice to see immediate dividends on ur investment!) #8 Engelb Vielma (starts out in FSL w/ Gordon but forces twins hand into Chatty promotion) #9 Daniel Palka (fixes the K issues and mashes RH pitchers better than ever before) #10 A.B Walker (Does NOT fix the K issues but he is what he is think of Chris Carter formally of the 'stros now on Milwaukee) close but no Cigar : Travis Harrison , Lewin Diaz, Lewis Thorpe, Mason Melotakis and A.J. Murray.- 27 replies

Michael Cuddyer , what a classy individual, what a community ambassador what a great family guy, and a team jokster/ prankster and Magician! I will remember most of his magic tricks he'd pull in Spring Training, and really probably all season long.... Also i will remember how he hit like .340 for the Rockies the very first year he left he Twins and got to play in those elements in that Ball Park. What a great Twins Player and a human Being!
