At this point, the 2019 Twins are 100% Based on rebounds from players to their 2017 forms. In order to have a successful club this yr. Gibson , Rosario and maybe Berrios May are some examples that we're great in '18... But nearly everyone else, including the newcomers need to go back in time. I have the White Sox 2nd in division right now: Cleveland 89-73 Chicago. 84-78 Minnesota 82-80 Detroit. 75-87 K.c. 72-90 Dylan Cease and Eloy Jimenez are unfathomably good young players that can take the Rodons, Nova's and Erv Santana's to next level... Kopech could help them Late season as well... Also Chicago probably has best bullpen in division. If healthy , fairly easily.

Article: Jason Castro and a Cup of Coffee
shs_59 replied to Jamie Cameron's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Good read , and I agree 2+ years ago I was unsure , even upset we chose Castro vs K. Suzuki , Wilson Ramos ECT ( who were FA's). However , I can say the Front Office was proven Right . Castro has dynamically improven the pitching staff vs Kurt Suzuki , Mike Redmond , Ryan Doumit yrs. I'd rank mlb catchers as follows: 1) Posey. 2) J.t. Realmuto 3) Sal Perez 4) Gary Sanchez 5) Wilson Contreras 6) Yad Molina 7) Jon Lucroy 8) Wilson Ramos 9) Brian McCann 10) Yaz Grandal After that Jason Castro is right there with guys like Gomes, Avila, Zunino, Vogt , Cervelli & the FA the Chi Six signed.. -

Great trade . stuff Wise Odorizzi reminds me of Brad Radke... Odorizzi is what I thought Kevin Slowey would have become. Odorizzi to me, is a #2 or legit #3. Starter... Those that try to knock him down to a #4 or even a strong #5. Don't know what the heck they're talking about. Try facing Yankees, Red Sox , Orioles and Blie Jay's lineups / hitters ~ 65 times a year in which probably 10 or 11 of Odo's starts were against

This trade shows that teams value top prospects and players of Youth at an all-time high and put a premium on them as opposed to simply going out and signing a player via FA to a contract to maybe fill a short term void. Add in the fact Palacios who I'm sure mlb.com or mlbpipeline (Mayo , Manuel , Callis) would have ranked inside the Twins top 15 or so prospects... (Updated list to be released next week) AND is a Short-Stop. Makes Palacios a bigger value add to a small market team like the Rays than initially meets the eye. The other interesting part is the Rays Just recently signed Int. F.A. Wander Franco away from us who also is a young SS. - A Prospect with a higher cieling than Wander Javier.

Article: Twins Daily’s Instant Draft Reaction: WTF?
shs_59 replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Or simply put, the twins like Landon Leach's young fresh arm and Rookers senior polished bat a bit more than Sam Carlson and his 'unique' but hardly repeatable delivery Carrlson could be the next Alex Meyer or just as easily Daniel moskos.- 209 replies

Article: Twins Claim Ehire Adrianza, DFA Pat Light
shs_59 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Red Sox sure fooled us (all*) again -on Pat Light. The guy was smoke and mirrors, he doesn't have what it takes to be anything more than a quad A reliever. never a chance as starter in the show, despite a strong Monmounth track record as a starter. 97 MPH or 94 anyway with little command = Not too impressive. -
2017 Twins Off-Season top 60 Prospect List: 16-20
shs_59 commented on Thrylos's blog entry in Thrylos' Blog - select Tenth Inning Stretch posts
yeah i have Minier 20 spots lower , at around #40 Melotakis 1/2 a dozen spots lower, Stewart 1/2 a dozen spots higher, i agree with the young catcher in the late teens Roertvedt. Yscuar Ynoa at #20, im glad ur bullish on him, personally i'm fine with 25 or so. -
No, it may not be totally clear. But i can put 2 and 2 together . Anyone with any semblance of minor league prospects (me) knows if Brock Stewart~??!?!?!!?!??!!?!?!?? wasn't available as the 2nd PIECE than ABSOLUTELY not was either Bellinger, alvarez, calhoun, verdugo, Buehler ect. KUDOS to the Twins front office for not giving in to the nearly Pathetic low ball offer ...the overly prospective rich Dodgers are.
-
also guys you know what Jose De Leon's comp was in 2014 and most of, if not all of 2015? RHP Javier Vazquez (marlins , white sox, ect.) remember him ? a career #3 or #4 starter who bottomed out as a quad A guy after about 7-8 seasons. he might of had 1 or 2 career years where he pitched like a #2. thats what i think De Leon essentially becomes, maybe a little better career, but still
-
John Bonnes and 1 or 2 others have said , they'd take a Dozier for De Leon swap 1 for 1 straight up. I disagree , i think at minimum it can be De Leon , Brock Stewart or De Leon and Calhoun
-
Reports are the Dodgers were not willing to include any of : P's Brock Stewart, Walker Buehler or obviously Yadier Alvarez as the 2nd piece. IF that is true that means they most certianly weren't willing to include any of Alex Verdugo, Willie Calhoun or even Chase De Jong as a 2nd piece either. and we already knew that Urias, Y, Alvarez, and Cody Bellinger were off limits IF that report by Heymann and co. ? is true Screw the Dodgers they don't really want Dozier in my mind SO WE KNOW the offer all long was either A. ) jose de leon straight up for Dozier or B.) De Leon and a C prospect or 2 they weren't even willing to give up high end C+ guys. thats a mistake on their part big-time. and no way in hell De Leon is a top 5 prospect in the game, not even top 15 he's somewhere in the 16-40 range for me.

Article: Moving Dozier Needs to Include Creativity
shs_59 replied to Jeremy Nygaard's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Another factor in the Dozier / De Leon potential swap the Dodgers could be overlooking is that Dozier plays every day. De Leon pitches every 5th day, gives you what maybe 150 -160 innings next year? Brian Dozier had 640 AB's last year on a terrible ball club. The Dodgers are getting potentially 1,200 innings from Brian next year, where the Twins are getting at best 1/6th of that from De Leon. I know pitching trumps that in many ways but De Leon is far from sure thing a minimum of De Leon and Calhoun and De Jong or B. Stewart an ideal of De Leon and Buehler and a similar maximum of what the White Sox got for 5 yrs of Adam Eaton. B/C... Dozier > Eaton.- 121 replies

I'm psyched If We end up Keeping Brian Dozier going into the 2017 season. He will lead us and our rebuild into greater things, Brighter days ahead. Brian Dozier is absolutely worth 3 to 4 quality players in a trade, we don't get that Screw L.A.- 121 replies

Great post Jeremy I too Would be down with De Leon , Brock Stewart and Willie Calhoun but De leon and De Jong or De Leon and Stewart isn't enough. And i believe the only way we might get De Leon and Walker Buehler + one other is by including Mike Tonkin or Alex Pressly whoever strikes their fancy- 121 replies

Article: Cardinals "Very Much In" on Brian Dozier
shs_59 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If the Nats are willing to include CF Victor Robles, that is the only way I see they have the prospects it will take to acquire 2B Brian Dozier If they are not willing to include Robles (most likely) They simply do not have what it takes after giving away ~75% of the Farm in the Adam Eaton Deal. White Sox killed it on 2 deal this off-season , just blew the industry away almost.- 209 replies

Article: Cardinals "Very Much In" on Brian Dozier
shs_59 replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Allow me to correct and re-interate what I said earlier at the TOP of page 2 here. The Nats, Cubs, Giants, Cardinals and most definitely the Dodgers are all believed to have at least "checked in" on 2B Brian Dozier and his availability, or lack thereof in all honesty. I Have been saying for quite some time, that If the Dodgers are "unwilling" to part with certain pieces (which they ARE) That the St Louis Cardinals are A Better Match and thats even WITH RHP Alexander Reyes not being a part of any such deal. my offers if I'm with Antony, Johnson, & Johnson, Steil , Levine, and Falvey and Co. 1. Dozier and Tonkin ... for .. RHP Luke Weaver, AAA , RHP Jack Flaherty (A+ (aa) , OF Magneirus Sierra (although I don't personally think his ceiling is that different then Ben Revere's or Aaron Hicks) and RHP Sandy Alcantara, A (A+) and possibly one other player. I originally had included 2B/CF Kolten Wong b/c the Cardinals are sort of "growing old" of him and 2. Really don't need him with Gyorko's explosion last year. Either Way in any such Dozier deal involing the Cards, they will certainly at least toy with pushing Wong on us. ONE WOULD THINK 2. Dozier and Ryan Pressly (or Tonkin, preferably if they'd succumb)... for .. Jose De Leon, RHP Chase De Jong (AAA) , Willie Cahloun (AA) , and RHP Walker Buehler (A+) .- 209 replies
