  1. Man, I don't like how Gray looks so far. Not hitting his spots like he usually does and worse, he has left a few hangers over the plate. But at least the damage has been limited and the offense already got three runs. Now get a few more!
  2. I swear, if the Twins lose this game I will think of that horrible call and wonder what could have been. Over the course of an entire season, bad calls even out but in a single game they can absolutely kill you when coming in crucial situations like this. That's why robo umps are desperately needed.
  3. No, but there sure are some comments here that seem to insinuate that they're sick of waiting for Buxton. And yeah, that would be nice, but what's the alternative to the current situation? Any suggestions?
  4. Predictably, the Buxton haters come crawling out of their holes at the first opportunity again. Yeah, it's sucks that he is not in the lineup. The 2/3 of the time he is in he is still the best player on the team. But apparently, some people would rather have no Buck at all and Celestino the entire year as your starting center fielder. Because I guarantee you, there is not exactly a huge amount of star center fielders out there that are just waiting to sign with the Twins at a price they can afford. Which is exactly what Buxton did, so stop hating.
  5. Great analysis! I really like what Celestino has been doing so far, filling in all over the outfield and providing some offense too. Very helpful for the Twins.
  6. Watching AK hit right now is painful, because you know how good he could be and because it feels so unlikely right now that he will reach that ceiling with his damaged wrists.
  7. While I don't mind doing that (4-3 Twins after 5 innings): wouldn't it be easier to just open Gameday? Btw, blackouts in Maine don't make sense.
  8. Last year, I already thought he had a pretty good eye at the plate and it has only gotten better. Now he also manages contact on a regular basis and gets hits. He could become a pretty good asset for the Twins. And yes, I also think he could start for some other teams. We have been spoiled with Buck but most centerfielders aren't exactly great hitters. And right on cue, a great catch in the field!
  9. Good! He had three fielding opportunities in the first game, I think. Two where he had to charge the ball and one where he had to go pretty far to his left. Made them all look routine. Also turned a nice 4-6-3 double play in the second game. I wouldn't say he had to make an exceedingly difficult play yet but whenever he had the opportunity to make a play, he did so flawlessly.
  10. Man, I couldn't even stomach watching the end of it. Glad it worked out! Pagan is stressful and I hate to watch him. If you get hit, you get hit but make them beat you instead of walking a few and losing on a bloop single. Luckily, the latter part didn't happen today and thus, a fun game. Miranda get's his first homer, Lewis his first hit, Winder is a stud and the future (which is also the present!) looks great! Switching over to the Wild now. They just scored. 3-0. Are we allowed to have a fun night as MN sports fans?
  11. How many fly balls died on the warning track tonight? So frustrating.
  12. Hard to believe the same goalie got a shutout in game 1. Nice job, Kirill.
  13. Yikes, Polo is having a brutal day in the field.
  14. Poor Celestino. That was a robbery. He is another player that looks much improved, though.
  15. Man, Winder looks even better than I had dared to hope. And I had really high hopes for him. Before the season, I thought Winder was the pitching prospect with the fewest question marks, someone who was basically ready to be plugged into the rotation. Love to see what he is doing now.
  16. Kep not looking great at the plate tonight.
  17. It's unbelievable how much better he looks. Just taking great ABs and pouncing on pitcher's mistakes. Looks like a real asset to the Twins now.
  18. As good as that splinker is, it's also hittable when left in the middle of the zone. He has done that a few times, not only today. And that's also where most of the damage against him has come.
  19. Crazy that the Orioles pitcher even threw him a fastball there. Right over the plate too. Maybe would have been smarter to just walk him. But I won't complain.
  20. Is it just me or have the Twins made a ton of outs at home this season? Aggressiveness is one thing but you still have to be right the majority of the time. Doesn't feel like this is the case. Hope it doesn't come back to bite them.
