  1. Calvin Griffith hired more African-Americans as major league baseball players than this current management would even think of. Actually, current management of the Twins do not seem to want more than one at a time on the team. Perhaps they are virtue signaling to cover their own racism.
  2. Fewer and fewer care each day. It's long past the point of no return for many who are getting on with their lives and putting money into their own pockets, instead wasting it on franchises and athletes who think they are entitled to lifelong devotion.
  3. Baseball is also my favorite sport, but I don't need it. I'm almost to the point where I don't even want it.
  4. What a diaper load of feel-good political correctness. Always enjoyed this blog, not only because it was about the Minnesota Twins, but it was an escape from the political world. This ruins it. Don't they realize that about half the country disagrees, no matter what your political view are? There are plenty of other social media options if we want to debate politics.
  5. Give the minor leaguers a raise, play a limited schedule with minor leaguers and showcasing upcoming talent. Forget the current major league players. A good number of veterans will be thinned out for the 2021 season. Life goes on. Adjust, adapt, and relocate.
  6. With these 2020 problems, and a potential work stoppage in 2021, I'd describe the sport of professional baseball as a sport that needs itself. The country and the world will get on with their lives, and the universe is indifferent.
  7. I'm sure it would be legitimate, but even if it happens, many major leaguers won't show up. It would be more of a AAA/AA/A championship season. And by 2021 large numbers of 2019 major leaguers will be released anyway. Just make the abbreviated season a showcase for young, hungry talent.
  8. Every organization and government has their own social distancing/safety/ppe rules and regulations, and MLB would be no exception. However the main problem will be with management and union unable to work out an acceptable agreement for an abbreviated season. Some players will be unwilling to work for half pay and, sincerely or not, will cite the health concern. Many minor leaguers and marginal major leaguers would jump at the chance to take their place. Just my opinion, but either cancel the season all together, or make it a showcase for upcoming players and minor leaguers.
  9. I've already made other plans for this summer. Not counting on anything that I can't control.
  10. Intelligence (baseball wise), think I'd have to go with Dave Winfield.
  11. Mauer was certainly one of the best Twin's players ever, but hardly the underrated type. For an underrated player, I'd have to go with another catcher, Earl Battey.
