Trevor Bauer Is Not Worth It

Are we all looking at a guy who does not deserve a second chance? If Bauer can still be an effective pitcher then I would think a team could create a contract with a tight leash around his conduct. Currently, according to Spotrac, Bauer is the top available free agent on the market....maybe not the Twins but someone will take him. -
The Twins starting pitching rotation is the proverbial "looks good on paper" rotation. However, if you look deeper one finds Mahle who broke down at the end of '22, Maeda hasn't pitched in a year and had surgery, Gray (who is a stud) but injury prone, Ober who is ok and will give some good innings and of course - Joe Ryan who got injured at the end of '22 but, is on his way as a top 3 in the rotation pitcher. So what's the point? The evidence suggests you can never have enough starting pitching. That said - why not get Trevor Bauer for a song and grab Cabrera. Jayzuz, Twins would look menacing....

Why does no-one seem to acknowledge Iglesias at SS? What about Corey Knebel as relief? I do like Chafin.

I always view free agency, trades, contracts etc. from the perspective that management, GM's and the like know way more than I do. That said, I just wish we knew what the thought process was/is with the Twins in terms of winning a World Series. All I can comment on is that the current team I see is not ready for prime time. Someone please prove to me otherwise.

This wasn’t Joe Mauer giving a hometown discount. CC had no reason to play here other than money which makes this Twins 285 mil offer such a head scratcher. Rodon never wanted to be here so its no surprise he is a Yankee. Now the Twins will have to overpay for Dansby Swanson if they truly want him. To top all that there is no pitching available which means the Twins may have to shitcan the season before it starts with trades.
