One Position May Hold the Key to the Twins Offense
se7799 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Yes I'd envision if needed Julien would play 1st base before we turned to Polanco to man the cold corner.- 49 replies

Realistic Goals for Twins Hitters in 2023
se7799 commented on Harrison Smith's blog entry in Harrison Smith’s Blog
I definitely must look threw bright rose colored glasses. Each player listed has a solid chance in my view to meet and exceed in many cases these goals. I don't see any of them being aggressive by any means on an individual per player basis. Not all will, but I mean Correa is still the same player with the same ankle he has had for the past how many years....Buxton I just feel will put a "healthy" season together at some point...but definitely would love to cut down on the strikeouts. The Gallo one scares me the most honestly. Not sure what to expect from him. Great write up. -
Twins Daily 2023 Top Prospects: #8 Jose Salas, INF
se7799 replied to Theo Tollefson's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Well said. I know others think he got a bump for being new to our system. But I feel fans would and do have him lower and subtract .because he is not asknown to us as other stated prospects. While the national pundits seem to like him more than many TD posters. I believe he will earn this ranking and more this year. -
Twins Daily 2023 Top Prospects: #11-15
se7799 replied to Theo Tollefson's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
I feel these are really quality prospects. Three high round draft picks, a large bonus international signing and Canterino was higher this time last year....for our 11-15 prospects is solid. In my opinion anyway. We shall see how they fair though.- 29 replies

Twins Daily 2023 Top Prospects: #11-15
se7799 replied to Theo Tollefson's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Great question. While I have been very high on Rodriquez and believe he will be a top 20 prospect this time next year. I've been able to watch him play alot and his Latin coaches speak very highly of his character leadership and tools. I havne seen or met Mercedes yet but have heard great attributes of him as well. We should have a much clearer view of them both this time next year considering they both stay healthy. However neither of them quite have a Buxton ceiling yet. We should see a big year from Emma.- 29 replies

Yikes! I mean in a good way. Hard to pick out the best of this group. But I personally love Emma Rodriguez. That being said...lots of high end talent here.

Rumor: Arraez turned down a Twins offer before last year
se7799 replied to sun's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
I'm sorry, but I strongly disagree with this take. Why do you consider Lopez to only have a cieling of a number 3 starter? How many #3 starters throw 180 innings these days? To say we got fleeced is just not true. Salas is not 4 years away either. So you are telling me you peg the Twins for 3rd place? I am wondering if you envisioned a 1st or 3rd place finish prior to the trade? -

Gleeman’s Top 40 Twins Prospects
se7799 replied to AlwaysinModeration's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Just my opinion. But a 270 BA for a 19 year old teenager from thr DR isn't pedestrian. Has a really good eye and drives the ball. A treat to watch him in person I lovec his hustle I believe is OPS was also in the 1000 range. I think he will only improve with experience. -
If I remember correctly..they were unable to align their schedules. Stayed in contact but unable to workout together unfortunately a lost opportunity.

Donaldson is not and never will be like Bauer. He's actually a positive person and helps many. But ya..if you read he's a bad person by somebody that doesn't even know him...I guess it must be true.
-
I definitely don't think they are stupid. I'm sure they are very competent. I'd be ecstatic to sign Carlos for only a one year contract. I just don't see a 1 year offer cutting it. He would have signed already if a 1 year offer was his best option. Just my opinion...but I believe multiple years no matter who he signs with.
-
Here's my thing. We signed Donaldson to what a 120 million starting at age 34 or 35...not sure exact age but it was definitely past his prime years. This is our chance to sign a better player at age 27. That gives us AT least 8 years before he would be the age of what Donaldson was. Think about that. Also spend money on a star..or pay 3 different underperfoming old veterans every year for 10 million each. No thanks! Sign Archer, Bundy, and whoever for totally of 30 million. OR sign Correa for 35 million a year?
