  1. Yes I'd envision if needed Julien would play 1st base before we turned to Polanco to man the cold corner.
  2. I definitely must look threw bright rose colored glasses. Each player listed has a solid chance in my view to meet and exceed in many cases these goals. I don't see any of them being aggressive by any means on an individual per player basis. Not all will, but I mean Correa is still the same player with the same ankle he has had for the past how many years....Buxton I just feel will put a "healthy" season together at some point...but definitely would love to cut down on the strikeouts. The Gallo one scares me the most honestly. Not sure what to expect from him. Great write up.
  3. My question to anybody that may have input on him or an opinion. Wasn't he a top 100 global prospect back with Toronto..maybe even top 50 by mlb? If so why the drop? Was it the bad year in 21 or just new pitchers added to lists..or something I am overlooking? Thanks
  4. Well said. I know others think he got a bump for being new to our system. But I feel fans would and do have him lower and subtract .because he is not asknown to us as other stated prospects. While the national pundits seem to like him more than many TD posters. I believe he will earn this ranking and more this year.
  5. I feel these are really quality prospects. Three high round draft picks, a large bonus international signing and Canterino was higher this time last year....for our 11-15 prospects is solid. In my opinion anyway. We shall see how they fair though.
  6. Great question. While I have been very high on Rodriquez and believe he will be a top 20 prospect this time next year. I've been able to watch him play alot and his Latin coaches speak very highly of his character leadership and tools. I havne seen or met Mercedes yet but have heard great attributes of him as well. We should have a much clearer view of them both this time next year considering they both stay healthy. However neither of them quite have a Buxton ceiling yet. We should see a big year from Emma.
  7. I know I can be very optimistic. But I honestly believe one of our starters will establish themselves as a solid number 1 this season. Plenty of options and opportunities arise.
  8. Yikes! I mean in a good way. Hard to pick out the best of this group. But I personally love Emma Rodriguez. That being said...lots of high end talent here.
  9. I'm sorry, but I strongly disagree with this take. Why do you consider Lopez to only have a cieling of a number 3 starter? How many #3 starters throw 180 innings these days? To say we got fleeced is just not true. Salas is not 4 years away either. So you are telling me you peg the Twins for 3rd place? I am wondering if you envisioned a 1st or 3rd place finish prior to the trade?
  10. But honestly you had 3 years to do so. Sounds like our FO said yes let's trade him you now since you were right about to buy a jersey
  11. Some really great people on staff. I've been blessed with an opportunity to get to know a few of these guys. Many of them are high character individuals.
  12. Just my opinion. But a 270 BA for a 19 year old teenager from thr DR isn't pedestrian. Has a really good eye and drives the ball. A treat to watch him in person I lovec his hustle I believe is OPS was also in the 1000 range. I think he will only improve with experience.
  13. If I remember correctly..they were unable to align their schedules. Stayed in contact but unable to workout together unfortunately a lost opportunity.
  14. Well said! Unfortunately they will move on to something else to complain about...that is what they do. Many fans on here seam to only parrot the negative and worst case scenario. I feel sorry for those folks. But hey we are all entitled to our opinions.
  15. Ok..I was on the golf course. Wow! I am happy as hell. I do have to ask from the folks on here that wanted to move on from him or only do a one year contract at most. Am I being over excited, or is this still a bad deal. I honestly would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks
  16. No ...but he can play shortstop. How do you feel about this deal? Honestly asking. I know you were not interested in him for anything longer than one year contract.
  17. Donaldson is not and never will be like Bauer. He's actually a positive person and helps many. But ya..if you read he's a bad person by somebody that doesn't even know him...I guess it must be true.
  18. I definitely don't think they are stupid. I'm sure they are very competent. I'd be ecstatic to sign Carlos for only a one year contract. I just don't see a 1 year offer cutting it. He would have signed already if a 1 year offer was his best option. Just my opinion...but I believe multiple years no matter who he signs with.
  19. Actually year 5 would be and 8 million buyout of a 16 million dollar salary. So total would have been 100 or 108. So not to far off. Guess our memories are both fading.
  20. Here's my thing. We signed Donaldson to what a 120 million starting at age 34 or 35...not sure exact age but it was definitely past his prime years. This is our chance to sign a better player at age 27. That gives us AT least 8 years before he would be the age of what Donaldson was. Think about that. Also spend money on a star..or pay 3 different underperfoming old veterans every year for 10 million each. No thanks! Sign Archer, Bundy, and whoever for totally of 30 million. OR sign Correa for 35 million a year?
