  1. One thing I would like to see is Larnach get some time at 1B at St. Paul. I don't think they have a 1B prospect their and his size is ideal. If he is not going to get regular time at Target Field why not increase his value to the team.
  2. Let Correa walk. Sign Rodon. His past couple of years are elite and I believe is worth the risk. Sign Navares Sign some of the relievers -Chafin -Fulmer - Duffy - Boxberger Let Farmer play SS until Lewis returns or Lee shows himself ready for the show. I think it will be sooner than most think.
  3. Tough to say, we don't have all the information the training staff and front office had concerning his health. Is it possible they were trying to avoid the IL for optics with his injury history and 100 game comment? I hope not. Was Buxton really being honest in how much the injuries were bothering him? Could be that Buck didn't want to let anyone down with the contract he signed and wanted to prove he could be available all season. Buxton is a difference maker, just like a number one starter. I hope we get the opportunity to see him realize his potential. Could be fun to watch if we can ever get everyone healthy.
  4. I always thought he has had trouble recognizing pitches. Have him take vision test ala Ricky Vaughn. Time to move on from Sano, I've been enamored as many others have with his potential but the Twins can get production from another player in a different way. Kiriloff, Arraez, Miranda, Sanchez, Jeffers. Personally I like Arraez as the option right now.
  5. I don't see anyone in baseball I would pay more to see other than Buxton right now. I think if can stay healthy, best Twin ever. Oh no, I just overreacted.
  6. I'm not a fan of Montas. If you look at his numbers at home compared to on the road, he definitely benefits from dimensions of the A's ballpark as do all of their pitchers. He is a tier below Berrios. No Odo, we don't need 5 innings from him when it could mean developing someone with top of rotation possibility. Sign Big Mike, give Dobnak one last shot at the rotation and roll with the young guys. -Pineda -Ober -Ryan -Dobnak -Balazovic, Winder, Strotman, Sands -Balazovic, Winder, Strotman, Sands I hate a six man rotation but they have to figure out who they have in regards to their young arms. 2020 forces them to think differently about developing. Take the money and sign Story in an attempt to outscore teams as we see what we have.
  7. At this point I would not. Unless you are able to package him to get a piece for the rotation now. Someone from Miami or Oakland. See how he works through his rehab and progresses this season. Hopefully he is ready to go this spring and give him every chance to show he can stick at SS. His value is as a hitting shortstop, otherwise he is just another average outfielder which the Twins already have plenty of.
  8. I know it does not excite anyone but re-sign Simmons for another year. He has to hit better as he cannot do any worse than he did last year. His defensive value is still good to great. Keep Polanco at 2nd and keep the position open for Lewis or Martin or Palacios. If you want offense go for Chris Taylor who gives a lot of versatility.
  9. I agree. Buxton puts pressure on the pitcher and defense in ways that very few players can. They have to sign him. Below is the reason I sign him. Having Buxton is like have a true ace like a Johan Santana or Clayton Kershaw, Yes, there is the injury risk with Buxton but there is risk involved in business.
  10. Brusdar has to develop his change up if wants to be elite. Can he do this out of the bullpen? How was Santana's change up when he worked in the bullpen?
  11. A few things to think about: 1). The quality of pitcher available right now may not substantially help the team. For example, Gray would be a really nice piece to have around during the regular season. But, is that what gets the Twins over the hump in a playoff series? I don’t think so. They’re better off waiting for the deadline, where maybe someone like the Rays would make Snell available, for example. That is what I'm thinking...maybe Tampa, Arizona or someone else is not close to sniffing the playoffs.
  12. They have to look at what Houston did in getting Verlander for their staff. Hopefully the FO can bring themselves to let go of some of their prospects in order to make run. If this is about winning the World Series, you cannot outslug team with superior pitching. Just does not happen. They should be trying from this day until the trade deadline to acquire a frontline starter. Unless one of Graterol, Thorpe or Dobnak are able to make the most of their opportunity make a big jump.
  13. I looked at Donaldson's numbers and it is tantalizing. As much as Donaldson could add to the Twins it still is not enough to make a run at a World Series. The Move the Twins need is to move prospect capital and pay the price for an ace because they are unwilling to sign here as free agents. And not many Free Agent pitchers really work out for whatever reason. I have my list of pitchers they should make a trade for but it is up to the Twins to pin point and pursue a starter they can control for a few years while they have this core of players together. If they wait for one of their starting pitching prospects to develop into the ace one day it might be too late.
  14. Any of the deals are fine except for Archer. His velocity continues to decline and his best years are way behind him. Hasn't become a pitcher, still just a thrower.
  15. I was thinking the same thing. If he could get his command back he could become a decent starter again. He needs to try Urine Therapy for his blisters like Moises Alou and Rich Hill.
  16. My mistake its Aaron Sanchez pitched for the Mariners this past year. Throws hard but control is an issue. Maybe Wes Johnson can help him. Had a great year with Toronto in 14' or 15'. Yeah they are not anyone you can pencil in for a rotation spot but something to look at.
  17. I'm sure the Twins have their coaching staff looking at video of free agent pitchers seeing if there is anything they could find mechanically with them If I were making the calls for the Twins I would be looking at Matt Moore, Alex Sanchez or Shelby Mill and Drew Smyly for the bullpen. Of all the pitchers left in free agency I would sign Alex Wood, no it's not a flashy move but if his back is ok then it could pay off.
  18. I wouldn't mind either one but I think they are going to have to trade for a top line starter. Robbie Ray, Mike Minor, Sonny Gray or they should go after one of the younger guys, German Marquez, Luis Castillo, Sandy Alcatarra. It'll cost prospects but that is exactly what they are. They just waived the top pitching prospect from a couple years ago in Gonsalves.
  19. Schoop is my favorite off-season move by the Twins. I believe last year was an aberration and Schoop will rebound to near '17 numbers. If the Twins are out of contention I could see them dealing him to a contender and getting a prospect or two. If they are in contention I think they should look at extending him. At 27, his best years are theoretically in front of him. They could also deal the 2B prospects for whattever help they need if they are making a playoff run.
  20. Nick, I think you are spot on with Cody...what are we waiting for. If they don't add anyone else the Twins should be willing to put Romero, Thorpe or Gonsalves in the pen. If people recall that is where they put Johan for the first 2+ seasons before he became a #1 starter. Let them get accustomed to getting out Major League Hitters.
  21. I understand what you're saying. There is value in bringing in one of those guys but I would rather have Gonsalves, Romero, Thorpe Littel and whoever else battle for innings.
  22. No thanks...I'd rather roll with one of the young arms and see what they have.
  23. Thank you for taking a look ahead at what could be. My first thought was, no Sano? Then I noticed there was no Nick Gordon. Then I thought about what happened which made Rosario expendable. He will be 30, still in his prime, but maybe he will get pushed out by Larnach and Kiriloff. My thought is one of those two will be a star and the other will possibly not live up to expectations. Anyways I have to believe Eddie will be here in 2022 in LF or RF. I don't think Austin survives this spring. Sano doesn't want to be great, so if he wants to leave then I can live with it. I believe we would be sitting good with Polanco at 2nd at age 28 unless Gordon or Javier push him out. C - Garver 1B - Kepler 2B - Polanco SS - Lewis 3B - Javier RF - Kiriloff CF - Buxton LF - Rosario DH - Rooker
