  1. Don't we have Hughes in the bullpen now? That gets us to at least 2 3/8 arms....
  2. I'd prefer to see Granite getting the AB's against LHP rather than Grossman at this point. Or even Garver (as a DH). If they haven't already, I'd put Grossman on the waiver wire and see if anyone bites.
  3. Just by looking at the stats for Moya, this looks like an absolute steal for JRM.
  4. Considering what he showed the first time through the lineup, I thought he might be useful as a long man out of the pen going forward....
  5. I would look really hard at what Baltimore is offering for bullpen help.... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2722444-orioles-trade-rumors-seth-smith-top-relievers-reportedly-available Britton is probably price prohibitive, but Brach and even O'Day would be significant upgrades.
  6. From what I saw last night, it seems like Colon could at least be a serviceable long man out of the bullpen and occasional spot starter going forward. Sure, start him against the Dodgers then put him in the pen. That being said, it's time to start looking for a starter via trade.
  7. Stretching out Justin Haley? Good Lord....is he going to start when he comes off the DL? Then again....why the heck not at this point?
  8. One stat that jumped out to me (from my CF bleacher seat....oh good for me) was Rosario going 0-3 with 3 k's. Granted, he made 3 great catches in LF. But I have to wonder if the Twins might be better served with Zach Granite out there?
  9. I really hope Gee get's called up....So if anything, I could buy a Twins jersey with my actual last name on it and not be that guy who puts his own last name on a jersey. (No relation)
  10. How is it that the Twins keep sending waiver wire re-treads out here when a guy like Hurlbut has appeared to be nothing short of consistent throughout his Minor League career? Are they afraid of the bad publicity once Meatsauce gets a hold of his last name?
  11. There's no way Rosario doesn't get sent back down after that performance, right? Or does he hold down a spot for low leverage situations until Hughes or Haley (gaah!) comes back?
  12. At this point, I have no problem with Wimmers as the long man in the pen. But I've said this a few times now, they need to make a decision on Justin Haley. Make the trade and send him to AAA, or send him back. This bullpen is bad enough, they don't need a Rule 5 guy taking up space. Hughes to the pen is intriguing. But they will need to find another starter. One name that hasn't been mentioned yet....John Curtiss. At a minimum, I'd get him up to AAA to see if we might have something there. Dyson is also intriguing....Does he have options left? It would be worth taking a flier, let him work at AAA for a couple weeks, then give him a shot up here.
  13. Please tell me we are one Matt Belisle shelling away from giving Hildenberger a shot.... And it'll be interesting to see if Curtiss gets the promotion on AAA to take Wimmers spot....
  14. I hate to even say it....but could Wade be a potential trade chip for the big club? And seriously, what does Hildenberger have to do to get a shot in the Twins bullpen? Or, as I mentioned yesterday, is he just Slama 2.0?
  15. I'm not actually hating Wilk in that mop-up/long relief role....That being said, they need to make a decision on Justin Haley. Either ship him back, or figure out what they need to trade in order to send him to AAA. At this point, he's taking up a roster spot better served by the likes of Burdi.
  16. I occasionally hear rumblings of the Saints becoming an affiliate of the Twins. How cool would it be for the Saints to be the Twins AAA affiliate? Granted, CHS field would be like the second lowest capacity in AAA. Even the Midwest League affiliate would be pretty cool..... I remember going to see Mauer and Ortiz play against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers when I lived out that way.
