I love the heart and hustle of Eddie Rosario. I get it, sometimes he lets his emotions get to him or he has a mental slip because he goes about his work with a nonchalant mentality, but he has the way of having fun while being productive. Baseball is meant to be fun and Eddie makes it fun to be a fan. That all being said, I think he can make some more adjustments to make pitchers make better pitches to him. He swings wildly often selling out when we all know his hands can catch up to pretty much anything. If he and Buck continue to work at their craft our outfield will be the best in the league. Extend Eddie!

He needs to keep on the diet and he will be a force! If he regresses he will be Panda 2.0

The last thing the Twins need is Gray to start a game against the Yankees in NY. Seeing how the Yankees have been the bane to our existence I can't see making a trade for Sonny.

My vote is to ship Sano and some mid level prospects out for SP/RP out of the AL. We don't need his bat or defense for 2019. Gonzalez Adrianza Tortuga Can all slot into 3rd any given day. Start shopping Sano now and pull the trigger once we get our guys off the IL.

I'd like to see an upgrade to our SP and RP. Interestingly enough Pineda may have some trade value in a 3 way trade as he would easily slot in viable option for teams like the Angels or Rays.

As much as it pains me to see us send out subpar relievers when we are in close games like last night, I think it is important. The more games we lose because of lack of bullpen depth only helps expose the need further and hopefully leads to a remedy. I would like to think that winning the division isn't enough. I say we go for it while the window is open.

Isn't the HOF ballot based off the players best 10 year stretch? If you include Joe's first 9 years as catcher - that alone is enough Last year (2017) hitting .305 and playing gold glove defense with a 3.4 WAR- as his 10th year. I feel like this alone adds up to his HOF resume. Some more stats that some may find interesting: Mauer ranks 5th all time as a 1B in Fielding Percentage Statistic Description: Fielding Percentage (Putouts + Assists) / (Putouts + Assists + Error He ranks 5th behind Casey Kotchman, Kevin Youkillis, Travis Lee, and Mark Texeira. He is just ahead of Doug Mientkewicz (who we all agree was great defensively at 1B at # 6) Goldschmidt, Helton, Smoak and Morneau at #10. Not bad for a position move due to career changing concussions that hit toward the peak of his career. HOF Voting: Voting shall be based upon the player's record, playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to the team(s) on which the player played. I would say that Joe was playing the majority of his career and excelling during the steroid error- all while being one of the best players in spite of the competition juicing. Joe is as clean a player as they come both on and off the field. This shouldn't be discounted.

My first thoughts as well.

Chris Gimenez should he retire will likely get looked at during the interview process. He knows the staff and the team is a club house leader and knows how to call the game. Sadly, Molitor's dismissal doesn't bode well with the idea of Mauer returning to the Twins org.... in my opinion this probably doesn't sit well at all with Joe and I could see him willing to talk to the Red Sox's or even worse the Yankees (who would probably overpay him for a couple years of steady production and defense at 1B). My heart tells me that this was a sad move, but my brain tells me that in the long run it will make sense. Who knows how much longer Paul would have wanted to manage after his contract ended in 2020. By then we will be in what we all hope to be in the middle of a long run into post season, and making the change now instead of in the midst of a long run makes sense. Good luck Paul with your new role. Convince Joe to come back for a 2-3 year commit!

I think we all are in agreement that Sano brings fear into every at bat against other teams. He will be missed for sure. Assuming he is on non-voluntary time off, it would also give Grossman and Vargas sometime at DH. Maybe it would give Vargas an opportunity to win some at bats later into the season... I would love to see Vargas turn into a threat.

I agree 100% here. I would much rather pay Dozier $16-$14 million per year and a TCV of $60 million. Then we can trade some of the extra "wealth" that we have in the infield that is talked about. Gordon + Granite + Hughes for Archer or controllable SP prospects. Granite deserves a shot at a starting job and should have some trade value, Gordon is expendable with Lewis, Polanco, and others in the system, and Hughes would allow for some salary relief while giving someone like TB a back end starter that could potentially contribute and provide innings. If we need to add one of our Relief Pitchers from AAA, then maybe that make sense too. Even as Dozier starts to decline in his older age, he will still be younger at the end of his contract then Ian Kinsler is today. Kinsler is still regarded by many as a above average 2B in the league.

His plate discipline seems to have gotten worse with each year that he's been in the show. I would rather have a healthy and focused Sano for 142 games vs an injured and distracted Sano to start the season followed by a suspension. I would love to see him cut down on his swings and misses. Be more aggressive earlier in counts and then make contact with 2 strikes.

I could be mistaken, but I recall Erv dominating MLB from the second half of 2016 through the all star break of 2017 which tells me that it wasn't a fluke. I am hopeful that Big Erv can put the WC game behind him and start out strong. I may be overly optimistic, but I feel like if we don't get Darvish or Arietta and instead drop into the 2nd tier such as Cobb that Erv and Berrios are still #1 and #2 on the depth chart.
