    Get Eddie out of the clean up spot? When he's traded this winter for a starting pitcher. Does Wade make the post season roster instead of Cave? Hildenberger and Stewart will be dropped this winter.

    I've joined the team of don't trade the top prospects. Just get whatever bullpen arms you can for guys that won't make the 40 man over the winter. I think with the easier schedule coming up, we'll rebuild a big lead on Cleveland and easily win the division. Sure, I'd rather have Baumgarner, Syndegaard, Grienke, etc pitching a playoff game in Yankee Stadium but not at the expense of an extended decade long run of very good baseball. This season is SO MUCH MORE FUN than the losing years. Right, wrong or indifferent, it's my opinion.

    I wonder if he would be in the minors right now if Gonzalez and Buxton weren't hurt.

    agreed, but Garver not scoring on the wild pitch was bad. With two outs, that's really all he has to look for. Secondary lead and be ready to go.

    Tony Oliva was 26 when he won the Rookie of the Year Award as the American League batting champion.

    Not only were the starting pitchers outstanding but so was the home plate umpire. He was very consistent and did a great job calling strikes on the edges. IMO

    Rob Drake had an absolute horrible night behind the plate. I'm sure he'd admit it. Calling Schoop out when he cleary checked his swing, calling a foul ball when a Yankee hitter swung under the ball, Cruz strikeout. When an umpire is that bad it sets a tone for the game and leads to sloppy play.

    I remember some road games in 1976 where a gimpy kneed Tony Oliva would be in the lineup batting lead off and playing 2nd base. He would lead off the top of the 1st and be replaced by Bobby Randall or Jerry Terrell if he got on base or at 2nd base in the bottom of the first.
