  1. That wasn't a walk-off win. That was the first Twins sprint-off win. Buck is in a class by himself. WOW!!!
  2. I'm tired of the Twins treating pitchers like they're fragile pieces of porcelain. Isn't it time to teach the pitchers how to be workhorses like Blyleven & Morris? Also, I'm totally willing to trade either Kiriloff or Lewis for Thor. We have a wild card rotation, nothing better.
  3. This happens each year. I'll believe that the Twins are serious when they sign a big name like MadBum. Last year, Falvine was in hot pursuit of Darvish & other top-tier starters. In the end, they made a lukewarm offer & lost him. The Twins will spend money but only to a certain point. If they want to put a World Series contender on the field, Falvine can't make a fair offer. It'll take an outstanding offer.
  4. Actually, I think that the Twins' bullpen improvement is tied directly to the Twins acquisition. Prior to his acquisition, May was inconsistent & Duffey spent too much time nibbling & trying to throw the perfect pitch. After Romo's acquisition, Duffey's used his fastball more effectively & it's showed. May has been more effective, too. He's been more confident lately. I think these think are tied together. Romo is to the bullpen what NC23 has been to the batting order.
  5. I like the addition of Sam Dyson. He's got solid numbers in terms of ERA, K/9 innings & walks per 9 innings. It isn't splashy but adding Romo & Dyson definitely improves the Twins' bullpen.
  6. Personally, I'd rather get Edwin Diaz if I've got to give up Kiriloff. He's dominant & he's under control through 2022. Imagine him & Rogers at the back end of the bullpen the next 2-4 years.
  7. I'm tired of this. If Falvine doesn't trade for Syndergaard or Edwin Diaz, then they've failed. Of those 2, I'd easily prefer Diaz. He's under team control through 2022 & he's a strikeout machine (61 Ks in 39.1 innings.) If we have to give up a Kiriloff or Lewis to get him, then thats the price of playing the last game of the postseason. The Twins' farm system has lots of talent. That's nice but that doesn't put World Series trophies in the building. Sometimes, you've got to take a chance to win the ultimate prize. Piling up talent is fun. it gives us lots to talk about but I want hardware!!!
  8. I'd rather pull the trigger for Archer & it isn't that close. If I'm giving up prospects for pitching, I want that pitcher around for 4+ years, not 2 years. That's likely going to cost more in prospects so let's go big. Let's package Sano, Gordon, Jay & another prospect for Archer & Longoria. With a cheap contract for Archer, let's use the savings to sign Brian Shaw. Let's not dip our toe in the water. Instead, let's make a splash.
  9. I totally agree. What boggles my mind isn't that Rod Carew was the best hitter in Twins history. It's that Sir Rodney went to Tony O when he'd get into a mini-slump. When you're the hitting coach for a 7-time batting champion, isn't that saying something sensational?
  10. I'd sign Buxton & Rosario ASAP but only for a reasonable price. I'd wait on Sano. I'd sign Berrios after 2018.
  11. Cuzzi's strike zone didn't resemble a legitimate strike zone in any meaningful way. Lately, too many umpires' strike zones have been either inconsistent or, in Cuzzi's case, consistent in calling pitches 6" outside a strike. Who cares if it's consistent when it's impossible to hit the pitch? In the next CBA with the umpires, MLB should insist that umpires that miss a high percentage of balls & strikes calls can be suspended without pay. The review should be done through the league office.
