  1. I am worried. Probably too many years of constant waiting. Glass half empty, they are not going to announce anything the last possible minute, so it doesn't have an effect on ticket sales. I don't trust the front office or Pohlad's all that much. I think it was last year there was a shortened spring training and all kinds of excuses were blamed on that. I really hope he is okay and ready for Game 1 of the season and that he plays most of the year in CF.
  2. I know it has been a couple of years, but I am still angry about letting Berrios go. We knew he didn't want to stay and last year wasn't his best, although he did pitch a good number of innings. They did not want him to just walk away so they decided to trade (makes sense). BUT did they get anything for him. Starting to look like a bust. Austin Martin already on the 60 day and SWR hasn't had a good start in spring training. I know the spring training is not really something you can base much on but SWR has a 9.00 ERA so far. It is only 3 innings but still!
  3. I guess all I see is the inability of the training staff to bring this talent to the MLB level. The most recent best players that have played any significant time is Buxton and Berrios. I wonder if a different team could manage Buxton's injuries better. Berrios is what we needed and obviously did not want to be here. Will the 2 players we got for him ever emerge?
  4. Another first round pick and they could not develop him into more than a bench player and then get two more "okay" if even that to take his spot? I too wish they would trade him to a better team that would give him a chance. It's almost like they are afraid to develop their top picks because they may have to pay them someday.
  5. MLB had a list of non pitchers already in camp. No mention of Buxton. Do you think they will wait until the last possible minute to tell us when or if he will be healthy?
  6. You still list Arraez. Sadly, that is one of the higher paid players (and deservedly so) that used to be here.
  7. If a player is injured for an extended period of time do they or can they collect insurance on the salary? Any details would be appreciated on how that work. I am going to guess they will collect on Buxton and maybe Correa. The reason I think that is there has not been a peep on Buxton's health and Correa's supposedly bad ankle.
  8. I was thinking more about how it would affect ticket sales and they are keeping his health status quiet for now. Who knows!
  9. I just haven't read anything about Buxton so wondering if will be ready for Spring Training or not.
  10. Here is the email: We have been working hard to renew our deal with the MLB Network to continue carrying their content on YouTube TV. However, we have been unable to reach an agreement, and starting today, January 31, 2023, MLB Network content will no longer be available on YouTube TV. You will also lose access to any previous Library recordings from this channel. Members will be able to continue watching select national MLB games via coverage on FOX, ESPN, and TBS through our Base Plan. We also provide the flexibility to pause or cancel your membership anytime. ‌ We apologize for the news and will continue conversations with the MLB to advocate on your behalf, in the hope of restoring their content on YouTube TV.
  11. Just got an email yesterday from YouTube TV saying they were not able to come to terms with MLB and will not show any MLB games. Is the MLB that money hungry that they will make games not accessible to fans?
  12. Has anyone heard anything about Buxton? Is going to be ready for 2023?
  13. Does he have enough value to even get a starting pitcher as of now? Not being sarcastic just curious.
  14. Sorry, wasn't clear. Lewis was the #1 draft pick in the first round in 2017. It isn't often a team gets the first pick in the first round. After 6 years it is time to figure it out once and for all. I could be wrong but not sure he has much value. Chase Petty was #26 and the Twins only have 2 years invested.
  15. Hoping it is this season so we can see what they have now. All the speculations are driving me crazy! If they don't work out this year probably not going to ever IMO.
  16. Who trades away a first round draft pick without giving him a chance? If he is healthy time to get him up here to see what he can bring. Way too many assumptions
  17. Again, I wish the Twins would have an everyday DH. But the only every-day players as of today is Kepler and even, he may be "iffy" due to injuries, Correa at SS and Polanco at 2nd. Everyone else does not have a solid position except Buxton and we have no idea if he will be back or how he is doing. Has anyone heard anything? Spring training is only a month away and I have not seen much on injured players ready to return.'
  18. I would love a designated DH. I loved Cruz as that option. To me a DH is a position where you have a good chance of seeing a homerun. Not just putting any player out there.
  19. Seems the Twins are in hope and pray with the starters. Many haven't played an entire season in 3 years. If it changes GREAT but if not, then what? Lopez looks like he may have been in the bullpen but his ERA over his career is 5.45? Pitcher 2020 2021 2022 Avg Gray 11 26 24 20 Maeda 11 21 0 11 Ober 20 11 16 Mahle 10 33 23 22 Ryan 11 26 24 20 Lopez 10 Bull Pen? Bull Pen?
  20. I for sure wouldn't call him a bad pitcher. He is at least average with a potential to be great. One bad season compared to his other seasons???
  21. Not wanting to stay on the team is correct. A player like him wants to go to a contending team. As for SWR he played in one game and 5 innings and gave up 2 runs. I have seen many times where a pitcher starts out well but then the batters figure him out and it can go downhill. I hope more than anything his projection are accurate. We have learned the hard way that projected doesn't always work.
