As the week goes on, we continue through this series, reviewing the Twins roster. We’ll make some projections and compare the Twins players to the rest of the American League Central.

Today we complete our projections, predictions and rankings for the Minnesota Twins infield by considering shortstop Danny Santana. My sense is that Santana might be the most polarizing in the series. We all know his 2014 rookie season with the Twins surpassed anything he had done in his seven minor league seasons, and he did it at a new position. What is in store for him in 2015?

Earlier, we discussed Kurt Suzuki and the rest of the AL Central catchers. Now, we take a look at Joe Mauer and the AL Central first basemen. Mauer had a tough season in 2014 and looks to rebound in 2015. There are some really good first basemen in the division as well.

In the last few days, we reviewed and made predictions about the 2015 seasons of the Twins infielders. Today, we continue to make our projections and rankings of the Twins outfielders by looking at the center field position.

Jordan Schafer will go into the season as the Twins starting center fielder. At some point in the season, we may see Aaron Hicks getting another opportunity. And, by the end of the season, there is some chance that we could get our first glimpse of Byron Buxton. Today, we’ll make predictions for Jordan Schafer.

It’s the last of our hitter predictions today as we look at Kennys Vargas and the other AL Central designated hitters. Sure, Vargas will get some time at first base too, but primarily he will be the DH.

It’s hard to imagine but in less than one week the 2015 season will begin. It was a long offseason. There were quite a few changes. There have been some interesting decisions. But for baseball fans, opening day is – or SHOULD be – something to be excited about.

The mantra has been the same over the last month, regardless of the source. “The best division in baseball? You have to think it’s the AL Central.” or “The most competitive division this season looks to be the AL Central!” No matter how it is framed, the reasons listed are always the same:

70-92, 66-96, 66-96, 63-99, those are the records of the Minnesota Twins over the past four seasons. At the end of 2014, Terry Ryan fired longtime manager Ron Gardenhire, and the Twins appeared determined to make a turnaround. While just a month into 2015, comments suggesting the Twins are lackluster and bad continue to be tossed around by the uninformed fan.

If you follow the Twins and their minor league system, 2015 was a fun season. The previous four seasons were hard to watch, but it has made following the Twins farm system - one of the best in baseball - a lot of fun. In 2015, we started seeing some of the big names debut. In fact, eight players debuted for the Minnesota Twins during the season.
