As we creep ever-so-slowly forward to the annual baseball draft, there are a few storylines that have taken a front seat. We finally have an answer to one of the draft’s biggest questions. We’ll cover that and more in this week’s update.

The Twins took an early lead thanks to Jorge Polanco and Gary Sanchez, but as it has been so many times with this team, the bullpen relinquished the lead in the late innings on the way to an 8-5 loss.

With an incredible offensive outburst, the Twins needed only six innings to score eleven runs and blowout the Athletics in Oakland this afternoon. Sonny Gray was lights out as well, and Minnesota secured another series victory.

Simeon Woods Richardson has risen on Twins prospect lists over the last year. Now, the Twins are calling him up to make his big league debut.

The Twins had 21 consecutive batters retired on a brutal night against a tough Oriole pitching staff, but on a couple of swings late in the ninth, they walked off Baltimore to win the series opener.

The Twins finished the last weekend series of the season in Detroit Sunday hoping to walk away with a series victory against the cellar team of the division. They sent out their top pitching prospect Simeon Woods Richardson to make his debut against Tiger lefty and fellow rookie Joey Wentz. Could the Twins get a win for SWR’s debut or hit like they usually have all season?

Take your pick with where your attention was going tonight on the farm for the Twins. Two top pitching prospects were on the bump, Royce Lewis returned to the Saints, Trevor Larnach was on a rehab assignment, and Cedar Rapids put up runs in bunches. There was a lot to be excited about.

The Orioles came into the game with an eleven-game losing streak at Target Field and left for the day with a twelve-game losing streak. But it is not as easy as it seems. The Twins waited until late in the game again before rallying for another walkoff win, their second in two days!

Well, that was pleasant. 

Wait, they didn't come back?

The Twins put together a good offensive performance early and survived a late rally from the Royals to take game one of the series in Kansas City. Devin Smeltzer had another convincing start and rookie Jose Miranda hit a clutch double late.

The Twins lack of insurance runs ended up being their demise. The Angels picked at the pitching until it fell apart and what was a shutout into the eighth inning for the Twins, ended in disaster.
