Tanaka to the Twins: What Would It Take?

I think you missed the key point:

Those moves could "add to the depth of the team and gives us better odds of fill holes we have".

Suzuki is on a one-year deal, so there is still a need ar catcher. Florimon probably isn't the answer and it could be argues that the Twins don't have a single long-term SS.

That's how I took it anyway.

My point is that Pinto with 6 seasons of team control (and Koch and Turner down the line) is a better choice than Stassi and Escobar or Santana (and Polanco down the line) is a better choice than Sardinas. Never talked about Florimon or Suzuki. I see them as bench players at best.

Both Stassi and Sardinas cannot play in the majors and contribute in 2014 more than what the Twins have already plus there is somewhat of a pipeline in those positions, so it does not make much sense.

My point was to stack prospects, you know in case we have pinto turn into Parm part Deux.

at this point I dont see this team going any where in 2014 maybe battle the Chi-Sox for 5th place, so lets move some parts add some more prospects to the fold , that could help us when we are ready to compete, as for Stassi and Sardinas, where is it written they wont be as good as Pinto or Polanco? So right now we dont know, but I like having multipul quality prospects per position,If both work out you keep the best and trade the other to help fill holes you still have

In principle, I agree with this. However, what are we gonna have to trade to get Stassi or Sardinas? It doesn't seem like the Twins are interested in trading away from their 25 man roster at this point, because while in general they are leaning towards 2015 and beyond when the prospects are up and helping, they did go out and spend $80 on pitching to prevent another 65 win debacle.

They will probably trade from the 25 man in June, but I doubt we see Plouffe, Parmelee or anyone else get moved before April 1st.

Texas has been linked to Bruce Chen to replace Holland, Maybe they would like Gilmartin or Diamond along with a prospect, maybe Harrison ? If we were to add Garza, that makes Correia expendible maybe a package of Kevin, Bard and another prospect for Stassi? I only picked these 2, Im sure there are others out there that could help .Stassi is blocked in Huston behind Castro and Sardinas is blocked by 2 players in Texas. But my thinking is if Pinto doesnt pan out as a catcher , whats plan B? Herrmann, Fryer? wait for Turner?

I wish we had moved on Johnny Monell for cash from the Giants , a nice hitting decent defensive lefty hitting catcher .

So on Yahoo they are saying 5 teams made formal offers: Chicago, Chicago, Dodgers, D'backs, Yanks.
No Twins offer? I'm shocked I tell you, just shocked. Yes, that's my attempt at sarcasm. I hope they're not done for the offseason though, they've still got plenty of room for improvement.
