Good, save it and enjoy it when the sting of today's loss has worn off....

...and just before the road trip pummeling begins? 3 with Atlanta, then 4 with Detroit, then Carlos Gomez gets 2 shots at the Twins. After this 2-7 homestand debacle..... and now even the last line of defense, namely the bullpen, imploding, I'm not getting a good feeling about this trip.

Is that a bad thing if the Twins lose? I mean the way I look at it is they have no shot at the playoffs and even if god came down and helped the Twins make it they have 0 chance of winning a series with their Roto. Also how many Twins in the lineup today will even be there in 2-3 years when the team is actualy decent? 2-3 maybe 4? It does no good going out and winning games this season when the Twins could get another top 5 pick to improve their system and future.

Berrios, Buxton, Meyer and the 4th pick this year all came from the Twins having horrible seasons. Berrios was picked with the Compensatory pick they got from letting Cuddeyer go through FA because they wanted to start rebuilding, Meyer was traded for which made the team worse and Buxton and the 4th overall pick were from bad records because of players leaving for the rebuild. You have to hit rock bottom while rebuilding to have a bright future. WSH, BAL, TB, TEX and SF are all examples of teams that hit bottom and are now successful because of it.

The trouble with your analysis is that the Twins have already hit rock bottom- TWICE- so all we have to root for is yet another THUD?.... and to top it off, you are incorrect in your assumptions, they haven't made the requisite and painful moves required of a team in "rebuilding mode"- which only extends the misery.

You named 5 teams that are now successful. I can name many more that have hit rock bottom and are still hitting that bottom rock year after year- some right in the AL Central. That's the danger of falling into the "lose on purpose to effectuate a higher pick" mode, it becomes habit-forming. And turns off a fan-base for the long-term. Do you really want to go in a 20+ year purgatory like the Orioles endured? By the time they turned it around, there were very few fans left that cared about a once-proud organization, with a glorious ballpark that sold out every night- the Orioles are still forced to operate on the cheap, even though this year should have been the year they made the offseason deals to put them over the top. Sound familiar?

The point is, despite some very good-looking prospects in the lower minor league levels and a couple of SPs knocking at the door, the manner in which this franchise is operated, both at the financial level and by which talent is developed and taught to play the "Twins Way" is going to be an ongoing roadblock and impediment.
