Trade Polanco to Mariners?

If they can get Brash or Hancock in return they should absolutely listen on Polanco. I'd prefer they move Kepler to Seattle who seems to be in the market for a lefty hitting OFer (rumored to be in on Nimmo, Conforto, Benintendi, etc.), but I don't think Kepler brings back a difference maker. If Polanco can bring back a young stud arm with half a decade of control left I'd pull the trigger on that deal for sure.

Good analysis but my key to success in life is not thinking too hard.  In this case I let the Twins' marketing department, who surely chatted beforehand with baseball operations and found out which players to be a little careful about publicizing, do the thinking for me, freeing up precious brainwaves for today's Wordle and so forth.

It's more like selling your garage so you can buy the Porsche. The elements are going to be rough on that fancy thing you just bought. ?

Not if the garage you sold is your second garage, and you just park the Porsche in the main one.  At the end of the day, paying Correa $35M to $40M a year is easier, at least over the next two years, without Polanco's $7.5M and $10.5M salaries.  Also worth noting that it's not crazy to suggest that some combination of Lee/Julien/Martin/Lewis/Farmer/Arraez could more or less replicate most or all of Polanco's production.  The Twins have a glut of middle infield players at or near the MLB level, so clearing some of that to work towards obtaining elite level talent is the move, in my opinion.

Look at this photo where the team rolled out the new uniforms.  Look at this list of players who will not be traded this off-season.

Never say never but I will be absolutely shocked if Polanco goes.

It's possible you're overthinking the dynamics of 1. who needed or wanted to fulfill one of their PR obligations in their contract and 2. availability of any given player to do that during the offseason without difficult travel.

In other words I wouldn't put too much stock in the cogs they use in the wheel on any given PR event, this one included.

Your selling your first garage. The 2nd garage doesn't have a driveway and it is full to the brim with a snowblower, lawn mower, shovels, hoses, extension cords, flower pots, gardening soil, ladders, tools, golf cart, 2 sets of golf clubs. 2 bikes, croquet and badminton sets, an old kayak with a hole in the bottom. air compressor, and an old car battery that was replaced 7 years ago.

Keep the main garage and park your 2012 Correa in it. ?
