He gets looks because he really good on the defensive aspects.

And he'll take a walk and has a tiny bit of pop.  It's not easy to OPS .522 these past five seasons when your BA is .178.  :)

As was fully expected, the Twins land a backup catcher as Caleb Hamilton was not going to cut it. Leon should be up sooner than later.

Cut what exactly? Leon is a career .211 hitter who hasn't hit over .200 since 2017 and is currently hitting .133. Yikes.

Leon must simply be insurance against injury.  They can't seriously expect him to play at the MLB level, can they?

Yes, but only until Jeffers returns, and only when Sanchez needs a rest. Just enjoy the fresh new look: he's a solid defensive catcher who has thrown out a runner in the past five years.

Perhaps, but the Twins have neglected him for so long that it's not much different from cutting him and Cleveland picking him up. The Twins weren't going to call him up, so it's no loss on our end.

Yeah, Ian Hamilton was going to be a minor league free agent in 2 months anyway.

Interesting how we've kept him shielded from other teams for so long. Claimed and outrighted in Feb. 2021 -- first time outrighted, and Hamilton didn't have enough service time to elect free agency. Never got called up in 2021, and as a 2016 draftee, wasn't quite eligible for minor league free agency yet after the 2021 season, so he had to stay in our system. Finally got called up to the Twins in 2022 -- but as a COVID replacement, we were able to remove him from the roster and send him back to the minors 3 days later without exposing him to waivers.

He's catching back up. He might replace Caleb until Jeffers returns

PLEASE NO! Not Rich "Over the" Hill again.

He was solid for us, I don't think this is a good take. 3.03 ERA in 38 innings - quite good if he hadn't been hurt. He is having another good season this year, although not quite as good as when he pitched for us.

He doesn't justify giving up much, but I wouldn't mind having a semi-reliable arm for the stretch. I think it is hard to argue that he is worse than Bundy.

Sheesh, are the Yankees going to win by depriving all the other teams of any good players?  Talk about the rich getting richer, they will have 6 or 7 starters better than anyone on the Twins staff if they land PLopez too.

Once again, baseball needs a hard salary cap and floor to keep the field competitive.....
