Have the Twins Seen the End of Miguel Sano?

Recommended Posts

Ummmmm.  Yes.  Two words...Jose Miranda.  I'd rather see Miranda in the lineup 100 times out of 100 at this point.  We've seen what Sano is....except when Garvin Alston was around.  Is he still in Miami?  Maybe the Marlins would trade a couple dozen baseballs for the chance to "get him right".  After 8 seasons, I've seen more than enough.

The Twins are likely out of the Major starter trade market (how did the Yankees get Montas for one potential good player).

That said, go after at least two of the available quality bullpen guys. Much cheaper trade value and by Far our most glaring weakness.

Hope the starters keep you in the game and then turn it over to an actual functional bullpen. Their best chance for any postseason success.

5 innings of Montas  or anyone would mean nothing without a bullpen to back them up.

Wasted talent. Biggest disappointment was his refusal to hit to the opposite field. So many tried to talk him into doing it. Could have been another Miggy in Detroit but just loved those bomb Home Runs and now that may have cut his time short!

I assume Sano will have his last opportunity during spring training 2023. He may get hurt this winter not playing baseball. He's a train wreck.

The Twins have a decision to make after the end of the World Series.  Buy out his 2023 contract for $2.75M, or let the $14M contract vest and thus bank on a comeback season.  My guess is the former.  I don't see him as a net $11.25M gamble.
