Current state of Twins baseball; Joe Ryan is left in to take a beating because the bullpen can't cover tonight + whatever is going to happen Sunday. Yeesh.

Anybody still feel like this team can't add a middling reliever or two and be fine?

Left in to take a beating… after an off day

It brings me no pleasure in saying this but between this game, the disaster in Milwaukee, and the Twins record against teams with winning records, I'm increasingly convinced that we should maybe be sellers. Who we can sell, I don't really know... but it's starting to feel like we really have 0 pitching, Frankly our pitching across the board is starting to look worse than it did than even last year.

5 HR's and a complete disintegration. Ryan had nothing and another Twins starter can't make it thru 5 innings. This one is a continuation of the ugliness of the previous game with Milwaukee. Guardians are once again on our doorstep. Sano is a total waste. I can't see him playing past Aug 2nd...unless the injuries pile up and they have to use him. His AB's tonite are vintage Sano when he isn't locked in.

Can't waste anymore time watching the Twins pitchers get knocked around and the hitters continue to fail. Tonite's lineup is pretty weak.

Ouch.

I also think that we need to be honest that Wes Johnson leaving mid season is really inexcusable, and I'm not saying that really falls on Wes either... But you need to have a fully committed coaching staff at the beginning of the season, and if you like your guys need to need to pay them to keep them. Again, there may be extenuating circumstances, but losing your pitching coach on a team that already had a house of cards pitching staff is really inexcusable and the organization really needs to take a long hard look at why/how that happened even if it was on relatively good terms.

Completely agree.

That's bush league and I don't care what the pay jump was.

Yes, the picture looks a little bleak in the last few games but the Twins are still in front in the AL Central. This is possibly the best opportunity to add a pitcher, such as Pablo Lopez and/or Frankie Montas. These guys would set up the other fellow pitchers to be more successful.

Methinks something's wrong with Ryan.  Things have been headed downhill for several weeks.  Betting he'll be headed to the IL shortly....

He's a young pitcher who throws his low 90s fastball an inordinate amount of the time. There are going to be nights where that won't work.

gotta say, Twins are taking some of the ugliest swings this inning. Buxton waved at 3 pitches low and inside. Same with Polonco. And Correa really isn't hitting much anymore. Couple that with the lack of pitching and Twins will very shortly be fighting for the final wild card. At 10-1, Twins are mailing it in. Boy do they look awful tonite.
