Sickening. Again. Over and over and over. Caleb and Sonny. Really just Caleb. One out, one job to do. One out. Just one.

Thielbar's pitch in a 1-2 count against the best hitter on the other team just has to be better, but Sonny Gray suddenly losing any ability to find the strike zone so quickly is what really kicked us in the ass tonight.  Just not a good game other than on the defensive side, and Buxton is in another terrible stretch and probably isn't going to wake up feeling too fresh tomorrow.

This should easily be a 10-12 game division cushion. But maybe not because we merely appear to be a slightly above average team in a terrible division. If Sonny Gray is our supposed best starter, we’re in big time trouble.

He has stunk with a stink reminiscent of that wafting out of the Twins pen.

I hope we have heard the last of the whining about Rogers.  He is NOT the pitcher anyone thinks he is anymore.  He looks great in stretches, but begins to put together really bad streaks.  I said at the start of the year that Duran would outperform Rogers, and half-way through, I was correct.  Move on from Rogers.  We weren't going to sign him and got what we could for him (with a few years to see if that was a good/bad/abysmal return).

are we above average if you take away Correa?  Thank God we signed him, or this team isn't worth watching.  And I'm afraid Buxton will never be healthy enough to see what he is capable of.  Was that a good signing?

Offensively, we should be. Correa and Arraez. Buxton MIA offensively hurts. No realiable starters, awful pen. Maybe we’re just mediocre.

how are we defensively minus Correa, and how much worse is the pitching without his steady d?

Buxton is playing hurt, and he is always hurt...never healthy

Middle of the pack it looks like. Being in such a bad division is the only reason we will make the playoffs. Just not looking good to break that losing streak

Afraid things won't be so great next season when he opts out.  I am not confident we have the core of a winner.

If Ryan and Gray turn into pumpkins, forget it. The 5th tonight was inexplicable. 4 out of his last 5 starts have been 5 or fewer IP

No matter how rough Rogers is performing he is still outperforming pagan and paddock.

20-23 the last 43.  By the all star break I expect that number to be something like 23-28. The pitching matchups for the remainder of the games to the all star break look bad to me. Other than the 23-8 run, this team is otherwise 24-31.  Not what I would consider a good, consistent team.  In fact, they were good for 31 games and not good for 55 games thus far.  So more not good than good.

Thiebar is terrible.   His ERA is 5.0 +.   He needs to be DFA’ed.

The only problem for us is he's a lefty and has a discernable pulse.  Therefore, he's almost guaranteed a spot in the bullpen.
