MIN 10, SEA 2: Twins Treat Returning Fans With Dominant Victory

Recommended Posts

Dare I say that Garlick is adding a little spice to this lineup. Good win.

I concur, he is playing like a seasoned veteran right now and is helping the team by being that extra ingredient that all lineups need. ;)

Nice win in the home opener. Seattle's a bad team, but you gotta beat up on those too.

Still not wild about the bullpen useage; I just think you're wasting a roster spot by carrying 14 pitchers. But happy to see Alcala out there again. I'm a big fan of his and hope he gets consistent use and in some higher leverage situations.

Berrios & Buxton. Love seeing those guys carry the team, just hope we can keep both of them for the next 5 years.

Nice to see Garver resemble "2019 Mitch".  But my jaw is on the floor watching Buxton right now.  The first legit MVP candidate since the M & M years.  If he plays 130 games and is healthy for the playoffs, this team is for real.

I agree about the Buxton specific part here, but I think an unwritten subject of all these "Yankees Curse" years is that the team's core players have often been injured in October, from Morneau to prospect Sano to Donaldson and Buxton. Fingers crossed this is the year (and every year to follow).

I'm at the point where I hope Garlick is cut because I can't handle you people and your dumb jokes anymore. :D

On what other team would Arraez be batting 9th (or 8th in the NL) even against a left handed starter?

Wonderful depth to the Twins lineup right now...

I saw that and wondered whether the logic was something like this:

If an opposing left-handed starter means dropping Arraez from the top of the lineup, then dropping him all the way to the 9th slot makes him effectively a second leadoff hitter later in the game, including when almost inevitably facing a right-handed reliever.

Of course the depth makes a difference too!

I don't know if I means anything, but I've been watching forum URLs count up to 50000 and this is the thread that reached that milestone. It looks like there's around 30,000 topics posted, so I don't know what the 50000 milestone signifies, but I thought it was worth acknowledging. Well done, Twins Daily; here's to 50000 more!

Another fun fact is that the forums will pass 1,000,000 (active) posts in the next 8-10 days.
