WTF Rocco!! Life is about more than stats and W's. Leave Berrios in. Psychological factor, he is pure lights out, he needs one more strikeout to reach set a career high. He has a no hitter, a shutout. He is never going to reach Ace status if you don't let him stretch out. You took all the fun out of this game. Get your head out of the stat sheets and actually watch the game.

I have no doubt they would have let him go further if it were later in the season, like Maeda last year (they let him go past 110 pitches!). It has less to do with analytics and more to do with not letting Berrios injure himself at the start of the season.

I hear you but say Berrios runs into trouble in the 8th, walking guys and throwing a lot of pitches but still has the no-no, it’s a lot harder decision to make later in the game.

I gotta agree with you. Let the kid go when he's hot. Never did like that pitch count crap. Tail wagging the dog.

Sorry, but 1st game of the season for Berrios and only game 2 and 160 more to go...Berrios was an ace tonight.

Its still a No-No. Plus, what indication do you have that Berrios was going that way? He still has plenty of pitches left. Let him go for history. He has never thrown that good in his life. Likely as not will never again. Plus those bullpen guys can warm up quick.
