Come on now, guys.

It’s easy to spend other people’s money...

He didn’t want to play here...

His girlfriend visited Tucson once...

The Diamondbacks overpaid/the market isn’t fair...

The front office is just being patient/ they are geniuses...

Small market team, not enough money...

Don’t want to be stuck with a contract in five years

Maybe Graterol will triple his workload and be an ace

Enjoy the ride...

We won 100 games last year

Etc etc etc

Which excuse will it be this time?

EDIT: Oh a new one!!! He wanted to hit!!

Not signing him isn't the end of the world, back off the ledge fam.

None of the specific decisions are the end of the world....

But cumulative indecision is certainly the end of any hope for playoff success.

I give this FO the official moniker of "paralysis through analysis" until any evidence otherwise surfaces.

They won't trade precious, precious prospects and the FA options are down to almost nothing.

But a guy with an algorithm said they're gonna super, super sweet once their X-Pace numbers stabilize.

This offseason is a disaster.

The off-season is not over. Remember how presently surprised we were when we signed Cruz last year? Was that on December 15th?

This is of course a false statement, straight up. Mediocre teams have won the World Series before (the 83-win Cardinals team being an extreme example), so obviously "end of any hope" is nonsense, especially since the off-season is far from over and the Twins are already pretty decent.

Fine, "almost certainly ends any hope" of playoff success. It leaves room to account for the miracle it would take for this team - as currently constructed - to actually compete following game 162.

Exactly. It's no one decision in a vacuum. It goes back to not signing Kuechel in June, not getting a starter at the deadline and doing nothing now.  With a "oh man are we going to get impact pitching" press conference thrown in the middle.

I heard his wife is from Flagstaff AND his girlfriend is from Tuscon. So you can see why he turned down 5/$100 from the Twins.

Bumgarner really isn't very good. At least one reputable projection system has him on par with Lewis Thorpe.

There are emotional posters on here that apparently will feel better if the Twins do something dumb, because at least it's 'something.' That's not rational. Winning playoff games won't come from dumb moves, sorry to tell you.

Because games are won in projection systems. Computer nerds have ruined baseball.
