Happy day everyone!

Shameless plug: there are a half dozen or so April game threads still in need of a volunteer...you know what to do!

It's not a shameless plug ... it's a plug of necessity! That sounded weird. Anyway ... here are the available dates left for April. Get your game thread on!

I consider him the Brad Radke of Opening Day (I should capitalize Opening Day, right?  Sort of like Christmas and Thanksgiving - All are holidays.).  Now we just wait until game 2 for Johan Santana.

Second why is there so much effort put into speeding up the game and nothing about speeding up the off season?

 

Third please no complaining about balls and strike calls, at least during the opener.

Baseball IMO does it right compared to the winter sports. It gives us time to actually miss the sport. With basketball and hockey they have like 2 weeks off then it's next season already.

Is it funny that I'm more excited about Opening Day than Christmas?   I started toe tapping and couldn't sit still last night and it hasn't stopped yet.  

 

Seriously... I think I may be more excited about this than my kid's birthdays (Ok, I'm kidding about that one a little bit ;) ).

 

Wow, I'm really a terrible human being :(

 

The only reason Christmas is better is because my kids are in town....otherwise, this day is much better.

I went to college just outside of Baltimore.  This morning, my alumni association put out a post on social media saying they still had Opening Day tickets for sale.  One small problem.  I live in Orlando.   :banghead:

 

 

Very eager to see this first week and how the new additions blend in and how much the returning players have improved.

It was reported that Russian Double Agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter may have been victims of door poisoning. It wasn’t fatal back then but it did produce a severe lack in judgement which resulted in “The Soft Parade”.

 

 

I strongly suspect that RB has the only Doors reference related to an MLB team on opening day in 2018.

 

Truth be told, the worst Doors album is still a cut above what passes for most rock music today. And the poet and "Runnin' Blue Shaman", Jim Morrison gives us plenty of fodder to work with vis a vis the Twins.

 

I mean, really, 'Cmon, cmon now', it wouldn't just "Touch Me" or make me "Wishful, Sinful" or a "Wild Child" if I were to "Tell All The People" that it's time to "Do It" and and join the "Easy Ride" on the 2018 MN Twins "Soft Parade" on Opening Day and all the way to the playoffs, amIright?
