SafeCo and O.co

I'm making a West coast trip soon and plan on catching some games against the M's and A's. Anyone been to either stadium and have any suggestions on where to sit, what to see, etc...? I'm assuming I can buy a nosebleed at Safeco and sit wherever..but what's the A's ****ty venue like? Is it like the Metrodome where if you bought tickets in the upper level, you weren't able to get to the lower part? Any info would help, thanks.

Crapps, there is a local guy that runs a site specifically devoted to baseball fields. He mainly focuses on Target Field, but he did a 3 part story on comparisons between At&T in San Francisco and the coliseum in Oakland last year. Here is a link to his site and part one of the comparison. I'm sure he will have discussed all of the questions you may have. Not sure you will want to read through all three parts of his review. There is a lot of information there.

I've been to both. SafeCo is fantastic like almost all of the "new" ballparks. We sat in right field in either the last or second to last row of the upper deck, and I felt like the view of the field was still very good. But also like most of the newer parks, there are any one of a number of places to see the game from places other than your seats. I'd suggest a lap around the main concourse before deciding on food as there are lots and lots of options.

As for Oakland, it might be interesting to try and find the time machine that transports you back in time several decades, but I've never found it. You'll see lots o' concrete and....well, that. The best thing I found there? A security guy near our seats was named Jack Tatum (not THE Jack Tatum, but he pulled out his driver's license to prove it was his name). Not sure about the ticket situation and getting from upper to lower level, but I can't imagine that would be a problem. For that matter, I wouldn't think it would be tough to get something plenty cheap in the lower bowl.

Safeco is one of the best ballparks in the bigs.

Just go on stub hub and sit behind home plate for like $30. Try an Ivars "dog" or some Ivars clam chowder. Lotta good beers in the stadium as well.

Anything from Ivars is a good call at the Safe. Get there early and take in the nice views also try to find the vintage jersey store in Pioneer square(the neiborhood the ballpark is in.

And be sure to bring a sweater/light jacket the breeze off the sound can get chilly.
