Article: Official Twins Daily Draft Day Thread & Cheat Sheet

Well, it looks like it was a good pick.  Just not an exciting pick.  But his bat is apparently pretty good for a HS kid and he certainly has some baseball background from his dad so maybe he's a fast mover through the system.  Best of luck to him.

I hate this organization so much. Who pulled the trigger on that pick when you have your choice of the college pitchers you've been in on for months? Let's take the kid who's nearly a year older than his HS competition and is already notorious for a lack of bat speed. I never understood the love for AK and I still don't.

Not a fan of the Twin's pick. I think Rutherford will be a better hitter. Sounds like they were locked in on Kiriloff since he's already been well coached. Very Twinsian pick. Hopefully it works out.

They really love the kid's makeup.

Heh.... maybe they were thinking- 'less work for us, then!'

Exactly, from what I've seen in the couple of years around the Twins lower level teams, they seem to put a bigger emphasis on drafting good character/moral guys than most organizations do. The exception being Kohl Stewart.

I thought we debunked your overheard conversation from what was allegedly Kohl Stewart's family?

I don't doubt your take, but that doesn't encourage me much. Jerks can be good at baseball too.

What has Kohl Stewart done to be labeled as low character and immoral? Seems a tad bit unfair

Look at the upside the Cardinals have added, they end up getting both Delvin Perez and Dakota Hudson.  Quite the haul.  Personally I would have taken advantage of Perez's fall and taken him at #15.  With an organization like the Cardinals grabbing him it probably shows that it wouldn't have been a bad gamble.

First two picks out of HS. That's been awhile. Can they both be signed for slot or less? Or are we looking at college kids the rest of the way through round ten?

I think they'll sign around slot but they might save (combined) a couple hundred thousand.  I think we'll end up doing what we did last year and get someone like Trey Cabbage a bit later.
