so...your saying he is due for an 0-4, 2 GDP 2k's?

Didn't see any of the game, but glad I didn't. Right when the team starts giving you a little hope they bring us all back to reality.

edit: we are coming back?!?

double edit: damnit

Well, we got some answers to our questions about the bench players tonight. Parmelee's job is to get hit by pitch when down in 0-2 counts for which he's a pinch hitter in unlikely ninth-inning-rallies. And Martroaianni's job is to pinch run and score from second on OF singles, again.... when fighting for the unlikely 9th inning rally. So there we go. I'm satisfied.

Season over.

(someone had to do it)

Not necessarily. They're only 8-1/2 back. There are 13 weeks left in the season. If they make up 1 game a week they should be OK.

And over that same period, I expect the stock market to double, peace to break out over the earth, and an end to global warming.

---Well that all would be awesome.

But - be honest everyone - raise your hand if, like me, in the unlikely event that all of those wonderful things happened one the same day that the Twins clinched the division, you'd be right here talking about who our game 1 starter should be instead of on CNN reading about how the world's problems were solved.

At tonight's press conference, Gardy in complete denial about the LOB issue. He completely denied that the RISP tonight was 1-10. He seemingly wasn't aware that the Twins outhit the Sox and had a series of poor ABs that snuffed out potential rallies.

The bright side is definitely the bullpen, Robertson certainly pitched like he wants to stay with the big club, gotta be happy for the big kid in his debut.

Meanwhile, Hendriks defintely showed he has a pulse and gives some hope that he can become a competent SP in time. In an added plus and based on the post-game interview, he was apparently in another life, the co-star on House, playing Dr. Chase.
