Is there any way to put articles into a completely different section?  I can already see that I'm going to be very frustrated by the GM series in the More Baseball area as it's already enough to sort through the Twins posts in that forum to review actual non-Twins baseball talk, and I personally don't have an interest in reading the posts.  I understand it's a cross-promotion and all, but I can put an ad-block on my computer to deal with unwanted ads on the sides of the site yet can't get away from this promotional stuff, which will likely kick all other actual content off of the first page of that board in the very near future.  I'm not trying to be negative Nelly, but there should be a way to allow a reader not to have to sift through articles of little to no interest just to get to the discussions that he/she is looking for.

You can read articles from the area that is called 'Articles.'  If you look at the menu across the top of the page, where it says 'Articles' 'Forums' 'Blogs' etc, you can click on articles and you are in the articles only section of the website.  Unless I'm misunderstanding your question.  Articles also get moved into the forums, and are essentially in both places, and the comments are linked, but you can read this straight in the articles section without going to the MLB Forum.

Ben,

Don't know what device you are using but I rely on using the highlighted threads on both my laptop and Fire.  If you mark all your forums as read, they show up brighter only if there is a new comment, thread or article.  Then it is easy to read the ones you want.  If there are threads that aren't of interest to you, skip them and when done, just mark the forum as read.

Sorry, we're not going to move the article threads into a special forum. Just ignore the threads... How is ignoring an article thread any different than ignoring a normal thread you don't want to read?

Also, this site exists because of those advertisements on the sides of the site. I have no interest in hearing how you block them and deprive us of 95%+ of our revenue. For example, you wouldn't be able to read all that on-location Spring Training coverage without those advertisements... Or anything on this site, period.

Are filters within a reasonable amount of work to do?

Not really, at least not in any fashion I can devise. How would one filter the forums?

Let's say you want to filter down to Oswaldo Arcia content...

By topic name? Well, topic names are inconsistent. A thread might be about Arcia but not mention him in the thread title.

By topic content? Well, topic content is even more inconsistent. A thread about Hunter will almost surely have Arcia's name mentioned in it, if only to state which one is playing left and which is playing right.

By tagging? Well, that would involve topic creators accurately tagging threads, which almost never happens.

In community-driven conversation, filtering has some enormous hurdles to overcome and I don't see it working correctly if implemented.

Has there been any talk of finding a way to link the comments sections from blog entries to the comments sections on those same blogs after they are moved to the Articles section? I often find myself having to go between two separate conversations that would both benefit if the comment streams could be combined.

It's something I would *love* to do but the time required to make it work just isn't feasible right now. Down the road, it's something I'd like to implement.

This and the blogs/articles moving to the forums somehow right away (which is really the same issue).....are my top requests.
