At what point are you guys actually going to get rid of auto sound/play banner ads?

I'm going to lose my mind if this site automatically redirects me to the iTunes Store for Panda Pop Bubble Shooter one more GD time.

You're getting auto redirects? Unacceptable. Are you on mobile or desktop when it happens?

Okay, am blaming Jay as this has never been a big issue for me, but today, ugh. And yes, I've been on my iPad.

Happened again just now. Automatically directed to the Apple App Store for PPBS (no benefit of putting their name on the web again).

The ad was further up on the page, so I couldn't have possibly clicked it accidentally.

Mobile, iOS8.1.3.

aaaaaaargh!  In the top right spot.  Usually I can turn them off or mute them within the ad, but when I can't?  ugh.  I guess I can mute my computer in the meantime.  Anyway, State Farm commercial, with an Indian guy retiring ... can't even mute it or pause it.  Not sure what the others are because I turn them off right away.  Just annoying when you are in the middle of reading something.

The solution is more private sponsors and less add networks.  :)

Any TDers own businesses in the twin city areas that would be up for buying add space?

And Dave, I'm sure you can buy space asking they sign Mark Derosa.

I know you are on the receiving end of a lot of complaints ... and I'm sure I'm right up there with everyone else with all that I whine about ... but it can't go unsaid ... I really appreciate what you do! I know you are working hard on these things.

(And I think I'm finally learning to type with one space! Progress!)

Sorry, Brock and TD, but I advocate running Firefox and adding the AdBlock extension, and it is all eliminated.  None of the ads now even show up.  I support your site but I kept getting error messages (can't remember the exact wording now) about glitches occurring in running programs from those ads, and I couldn't even navigate the website anymore without doing something drastic.

Since this falls in the 'annoying ads' realm I'm posting this here instead of a new thread. When using my iPad I'm getting a lot of redirects to .... adtrack.king.com ... then to king.com and to the App Store, mostly for Candy Crush. There seems to be no rhyme or reason with this. I'll be reading along then 'boom,' redirected.

Same.

Exact same thing.

Don't know how many of you use Firefox (and you can probably do this in other browsers too), but if the ads bother you this much, disable Adobe Flash on this site. I don't see a single one of the banner ads that's tied into the auto-ad stuff since I've done this. Those banners and boxes remain blank.

It's an option available immediately to the left of the address bar and right of the "back" button in the browser menu bar.

I did this because, for me at least, these sites overload Flash to the point of crashing the browser consistently if I don't (like using well over 1 GB of RAM just for Flash), but getting rid of these ads is a side-effect perk.
