SEAAAAAAAAAAAAA-HAWWWWWWWWWWWKS!

There are few things better than baseball. I won't try to make a list here. Last time I tried to make a list here a few people were a little less than pleased with my content.

There are, however, other good things in life. The NFL provides a welcome addition to the fall/winter sports landscape, especailly for those of us who don't enjoy basketball (professional or collegiate). Thursday night the Seahawks hosted the cheesiest of fans and their team for the NFL season opener. If you're never been to Century Link Field, aka "the Clink" then you should see about making a trip out to Seattle to see the way this town, this fanbase, gets behind their team. It's pure energy.

The Seahawks dismantled what I predict will be a very competetive Green Bay Packers team, winning on offense, defense and special teams. It was fun to watch.

I haven't been a Vikings fan for nearly a decade, but living out in Seattle and seeing the way this town goes football crazy has gotten me back into the NFL in a real way, not in the way I l ove baseball, but in a more comitted way than being part of the Vikings fanbase ever did.

And hey, no matter who you cheer for, it's still fun watching the Packers lose. NO PACK NO!

Heh, I'm not much of a football person, pro or college, although I do check scores and standings from time to time, and maybe check out a Big 10 game or two, but your last sentence is very close to my football mantra, if you can even call it that: it's a good day in football when the Packers lose. :)

Time to roll out an old favorite. I'm looking forward to Sept 28 and Nov 9, when my two favorite teams will play: Whoever Is Facing the Packers, and Whoever Is Facing The Bears.  I guess I'll be hoping for a tie.

I don't know what happened to me but I find NFL football really boring, if it wasn't for fantasy I would barely pay attention.

I really like college football though. Go figure. I'm not sure how it got to this point, but my speculation is that it started when following the NFL became 7-8 parts talk/hype vs. 1 part action. And like the NBA, it is too coached and scouted relative to the college game which is not good for the aesthetics.

Meh, I don't even care if the Bears win, and cheer them on occasionally. Despite having two baseball teams, the Blackhawks, Bulls, Fire (yeah, why not throw in the other 'football' team), Chicago is still first and foremost a football town.

I didn't mean to imply that my two favorite teams have to be anybody else's two favorite teams. :)

I've struggled with the NFL for years because of this. Football is overexposed. They play once a week yet if you flip on KFAN in June, they still spend half the day talking about football. It's maddening.

I like the game, I'm just tired of hearing about it. Every. Single. Day.

Did he have breakfast this morning?  I need to know.

ESPN reporting that Johnny Manziel has entered 348 elevators in the last year - 348 times he did not warrant a suspension when he left, which makes him a perfect human being that deserves to start every game the rest of the season for the Browns.  More on this for 54 minutes of the next hour-long Sportscenter!
