Twins Video

After watching Sano just drop a pop up that any little leaguer would have caught, it is time for me to comment.

TRUTH Sano is a better outfielder than a 3b, you clamored for a trade of Plouffe, then for Sano to move to 3b, what now brown cow?

IF Sano is ever to play the field, the only position for him is currently occupied....by a horrible contract...

So yes maybe Sano can play the field...but it would have to be at 1b

Dont run from this, I was the only one saying Sano wont be any better at 3rd...admit it...admit you were wrong about Trading Plouffe but even more wrong about SANO and third base....

Sano can drop a popup at first just as well as at third.

The guy has shown good tools to play his current position but is woefully inconsistent. I was afraid that fans would show little patience with him, despite all the brave words about bringing the kids up and letting them take their lumps. I'm not 100% confident he will ever attain the consistency needed, but we need to let him play and find out.

It is like Danny Santana at shortstop, both players have the raw tools, but neither have the consistency or focus to be even average at their "natural" position. I have to say, Sano has been brutal at third, with small dollops of astounding. I am coming around to Miggy being a first baseman, but there is the Mauer contract.

Go to Fangraphs. Even with last night's game in the books, Sano is outperforming Plouffe at third by a wide margin-- or a better way to say it would be that Plouffe is really underperforming this year. But we've seen enough of Plouffe to know that even before his injury he is getting worse at making plays to his right, and that's Sano's best play.

A show of confidence in Sano full time as third baseman for the next couple seasons will be the best thing the Twins can do. The worst thing the Twins can do is try to juggle this for another season. Just my opinion, of course.

Brooks Sano will be given until the end of the season minimum. I wouldn't have traded board scapegoat Nunez anyway, but he will become insurance for next season, once we trade board scapegoat Plouffe.

I saw Sano at Beloit. He made two errors in one game, one a pop up behind him, that most high school player stick in their pocket, but I would never ever put him back in the OF for a couple reasons. He really isn't going to be a suitable OF'er, and his fielding problems in the IF seem to be concentration related. It's not an athletic inability to play the position. Frankly, he seems a little to impressed with Miguel Sano. The good news: He is young, and hopefully will discover that just hitting a baseball does not a baseball player make. But it does a DH make!

TRUTH.  He's NOT an outfielder.  HE feels comfortable at 3B whether you or I are comfortable with him there or not which will impact his performance at the plate.  He'll be at 3B for the next 5 years after which he'll move to the other corner for 5 more and wind up his career as a DH.

Really? How many guys pushing 300lbs do you see lumbering around in the OF? The point is to keep his bat in the line up and live with whatever you get defensively. His health is in less jeopardy at 3B
