What should the Twins give up for Madison Bumgarner?

blog-0975849001564587965.jpgAs the deadline lingers, Madison Bumgarner is reportedly on the block again.

What should the Twins realistically give up for the World Series Champion?

Too much: Any of SS Royce Lewis or OF Alex Kiriloff

This was a different situation for Noah Syndergaard, as he had team control for seasons, but Bumgarner is a rental for 10-12 starts. Losing Lewis or Kiriloff would be an expensive blow for a short-term option.

Too little: Nothing including P Brusdar Graterol or P Jordan Balazovic

While I do believe Bumgarner should not cost an arm or a leg, I also believe with the competition that he will not go for pennies on the dollar. Graterol or Balazovic will be a necessary starting piece in any deal the Twins start.

Just right: P Jordan Balazovic and SS Nick Gordon

Avoiding their top three prospects in Lewis, Kiriloff and Graterol, the Twins pull it off by dealing Balazovic and Nick Gordon, who is an MLB ready player hitting above .300 for Rochester. This deal makes sense for both sides, and I would be happy to see it happen for the Twins.

Happy trading! :)

I'd much rather they gave up Duran or Enlow than Balazovic, but who knows what they are being offered by other teams?

Thought provoking.

Probably best that I am not an MLB GM. It's only easy when your team is losing.

Clocks ticking, if MadBum goes, so do their attractive BP pieces.  Send Brusdar/Balazovic, Lanarch and Gordon and Get Will Smith also, call it a day.  If they need 1 more sweetner in the 10-30 range prospect range do it.
