Haven't we learned our lesson on giving out deals like that one to Corbin? $110M?! Sure, he's a good starting pitcher, but I could see that dealing failing real fast.

I'd be alright with signing Pollock, but looking at his track record I could easily see his trajectory starting to point downwards now that he'll be 31 next year. 

I would do that Kelvin Herrera deal, though. We could really use a good closer.

Corbin may have been a bit high, I was guessing as starting pitching is a hard commodity to get.  If you have forgotten Gibson, Oderizzi and Pineda will all be free agents after 2019.  Twins need some sure things in the rotation and not all kids in 2020.  All kids may work, just do not like to bet on it. 

Outside of Pineda (if he has a good year) do not want a long term committment with any of Gibson or Oderizzi after next year.

I don't imagine the Diamondbacks will let Corbin go without offering a pretty nice contract. Same as Ryu and the Dodgers. Eovaldi has done well for Boston.

I wish you had listed equally good pitchers coming from Kansas City, Baltimore, San Diego, Cincinnati, etc. The teams that these pitchers are attached are successful and have money.

In most cases, lots of it.

Most of these players where from Arizona, which does not have money, in fact has a money crunch this fall.  Other pitchers do not know, but Dodgers have many extra starters, and Boston has several players due raises.

Appreciate you taking time for the comments, just do not trust Gibson, and do not think at this juncture, Twins would be able to offer a contract that he would accept rather than try FA.

Please do not expect the FO to go all in this offseason, you’ll only be disappointed. Besides, it’s not like we’re in a good position to go all in anyways, I mean we are looking for a new manager, right?

Gibson has finally leaned how to pitch, and it shows. Besides, I think he has 5 or so good years left. A short extension rewards him for his work and vindicates our faith

Gibson, sign him for 3-years and an option, but do consider trading him if he pitchers well.

You have to find starts in 2019 for the next crop to see what you do have. Ae goncalves and Stewart for real? Can Romero be a stud come 2020. When do you pitch Thorpe.

Chances of Odorizzi and Pineda being here in 2020 are slim to none. If they pitch great, you get MORE prospects.

Sano is the BIG question. Is he at third, first or just a DH. If you move him to 1B/DH, then you need a third baseman. Will be interesting to see the monies thrown at Escobar.

I doubt the Twins will spend BIG in the free agent market, and sadly any monies saved in 2019 WON'T be added to 2020 and beyond. The fat wallet is always a plus in Pohlad land, it seems.

Again, they will try and do some stopgaps that may be flippable. I would not consider that to be ALL bad, if the bodies perform a tad better than, say, Lynn and Morrison and Reed did this apst year. WOuldn't it be funny if the Twins signed Dozier for a one-year, only to flip him again in mid-season?
