Cubs radio guys have been complimentary of a couple of Sano defensive plays. What say ye who have been watching?

Bremer said the Sano is pretty quick at 1b, is the same as saying a Catcher runs well, , Liked his comment !!

Sano made a great play at first on a wide throw a few innings ago. He stepped off the bag, jumped, caught it, and tagged out the runner as he ran by. Was a very nice defensive play.

Well Baily gets bombed.  How could any team sign a pitcher named "Homer?"  I mean really!  I just checked the waiver wire and I see the Cardinals just released an outfielder named "Mike Whiff."  Maybe the Twins could pick him up?

Bremer: "At least we're going to have a baseball season."

Actually Dick, we know we're going to have the first couple weeks of a season. After that, it's anybody's guess. Half the guys on these teams could come down with the virus, or maybe they get lucky. Problem is, what if three teams have a serious problem? That could completely disrupt the schedule.

I'm glad I saw a game today. One day at a time...

If this is any indication, we are much-solidified in the corners.  Nothing spectacular from Donaldson but you could see the difference his range will make to tighten up the left side.  Sano going deep in the hole to field Bote's grounder across his body, then turn and throw a 3 - 1 out was truly heartening.  He grabbed wide and low throws from Donaldson in 4th and 8th.  Pickin' machine!

After three innings Homer Bailey will be working hard to forget, Clippard, Wisler, Littell, Thielbar and Alcala post 1 H, 1 BB, 2 SO and no runs over five.  They totaled 45 strikes in 70 pitches to just 17 batters.  Gotta tip your cap to the Front Office for putting this 'pen together.  It's going to pull a lot of chestnuts out of the fire this season.

Bats looked like they were coming off an April blizzard.  That won't last.

Oh, and Jon Lester's still got it.  Shame on the Red Sox for letting him and Betts (12 years, $365 million) go.

The bullpen performed pretty well and may be asked to carry a big load out of the gate. With Bailey looking really shaky and Odorizzi going on the IL the rotation doesn't look nearly as strong as I would like going into the season.

I thought Bremer said, "Sano was pretty quick for a big guy at 3B...is like saying a player runs well for a catcher". Implying he will do really well as a "quick" big guy at 1B. Could be wrong....

Sano's natural ability has never been the problem. We all know the problem. He needs to grow up and take his game seriously.
